I have never earned money on the internet, only on Medium. The other thing is that I was never a writer but I have improved so much within 3 months in Medium. @@adedamolaoluwatoyinyes. So start writing about two to three articles a week. After you write, you can either submit to a publication or just publish it yourself. Remember to always hit the “member read-only button” that way you will get paid. By the way, you have to be a paid member to get paid, membership is around $5. So after you publish each article, start reading other writers' work. They will then come and read your work (many do) and that's how you will earn and get followers. By month 3 you will hit around $100. But you have to be consistent. Once you master the schedule, it gets easier. Like I said, I became a paid Member in June of this year. That's when I got serious and I have seen results

I am new to medium and just starting out, however my focus is recipes and farm to table lifestyle / homesteading. The only thing I can say on my personal experience is, it takes a community to build each others empire. It's just like any social media outlet you have to be social. The main gripe I have is the new rule about having to hit a certain amount before your paid because as a new writer even .10 cents helps boost morale of you actually get your money from the platform.

I'm not a fan of some publications, as they often seem to favor their own stories and are quite biased. This is something I really dislike. Even though I have a large readership and people love my work, I've never been featured or promoted. Maybe they're biased or want to include me and my face more in my stories, which I'm not comfortable with.

I like that on Medium folk can write about what they like....getting others to read what you like, that's the challenge. Just lately there have been comments where people say "Great article" or "Good" and probably haven't read it, I don't feel like replying - like if they clap a stingy once and can't leave a meaningful comment why bother? And then there are the WhatsApp me scammers. It spoils the platform.

The only reason why you would want to focus on SEO is if you want to turn off the paywall and attractive non-member reads. But, if you want to write and get paid from the Partner Program, there's no need to write for SEO. 🙂✅

That is not true. Your comments and the hate YOU-Know-Who is spreading refers to marketer types who call themselves writers but only write to sell their products to writers. Medium is not a good place for marketers. It is a great place for writers. One thing that improved Medium for most talented writers is that You-Know-who left. Amazing traditionally published writers are on Medium. It is offensive that you say Medium is for beginners only. Those you looked up to when you started on Medium started in the early days when only a few creators were paid. If someone wants to sell yet another program to MAKE Money on, ---skip Medium. PS, folks writing real stories are making $100 to $1,000 per story. Hudson, your gift is in being human and honest. Your flaw is in listening to jerks. They no longer have anything to teach you. Just be YOU.

To start getting paid, you will need a stripe account. Follow the guidelines for stripe in your country

Once you apply to the Medium Partner Program, it will prompt you to create a Stripe, which is Medium's payment provider. It usually takes 1-2 to be approved after applying. 🙂💰
