Listening closely on headphones...the only one that didn't have weird artifacts/overtones was the Topanga for me! THANK YOU!

The True Spring can be made to sound exactly like my Fender amp reverb on Long mode (sounds like Tank in the demo). The Topanga has its own sound but I think I may prefer it overall
@LemonMeIon3 жыл бұрын
Do you have a preset saved for this? I have a Collider and like the sound of the spring reverb, but don’t have a good base for what is an authentic sound.
@robertyboberty3 жыл бұрын
@@LemonMeIon nope I just use long spring mode and tweak the tone to match. Different brand tanks sound different to each other anyways in my Fender amp
@Dungeon_of_Regret3 жыл бұрын
@@LemonMeIon the other guy is on point. Everyone’s frame of reference is their own spring tanks which vary greatly. One thing that doesn’t come up much is your guitar. I am here watching this now because I have a game changer “light” spring reverb pedal, a real spring reverb in pedal format. I had if dialed in to match my favorite verb sounds from a Surfy bear unit which I sold (because it’s too big). The second I changed guitars to humbuckers, everything turns to trash. And now I have to go tweak 6 knobs each influencing the other. Authentic is amazing until you get confronted with variability. If any of these can accommodate different guitars without having to fine tune the settings , I’m interested. For me, even if money were no object, the Topanga is looking like the winner. The true spring is so real I am worried it will suffer from the same issue a real spring verb does.

The Topanga sounded the most like the Fender's built in reverb, to me. That said, I really liked the Boing the most, it sounded the best to me, even better that the amp's built in reverb! Thank you for great content!.

@MarioCuervo what is that,? My screen is too small to actually be able to read that.

when i was shopping for a reverb i tested out the Boing against the Holy Grail and much preferred the Holy Grail. it sounded way better to me, and the Boing even maxed out was not enough reverb for me. it’s super subtle. the Holy Grail has a huge range which i love. i also tested out a Topanaga the same day, and just found to be a little to complex. i love the one knob simplicity of the Holy Grail. it’s a classic for a reason.

I bought the JRad Boing and put it on my pedal board after trying it alone, and direct through my amp loop. The latter was amazing, like it was built into the amp head. When I put it at the end of my effects chain, ie; chorus, phaser, delay, delay, reverb, when engaged it would cut the volume down. The pedal does not color the sound at all, but due to this problem I had to remove it from my live rig. Thoughts?

I couldn't decide between the Topanga and the Wampler. I ended up buying the Wampler and haven't been disappointed.

Id like to love the boing too, but for me the mix knob is A must on reverb pedal. So either wampler or catalinbread. Probably wampler as it is so small.

I have the Wampler Reflection and the spring setting is just okay. Doesn't get that wet slap.

The true spring for me, it had so much depth and drip, in my opinion it was the closest to a true spring, but they were all very good, source audio was the best

If I had to choose one; it'll probably be the Topanga... Although they were all good (some more than others) to my ears... Mind you; with that PRS and your fingers EVERYTHING will sound good... Be careful everyone!

The Source Audio pedal was the best of all of them.

The TC pedal actually sound like the natural amp verb. The topanga was very nice and smooth, but maybe too smooth. It lacked the "click" attack sound. All the others except, the TC, had Too much click. The Danelectro pedal I think had just too extreme of a setting dialed in or it probable would have been #1. IMHO. Good Video. thanks for the comparisons!!! Very helpful.

Unfortunately when I heard them all up against the amp I preferred the amp to all! But perhaps the Boing or Wampler would be my winner.

Actual spring: YES. "stompboxes" do take the meaning to another level when there is an actual spring inside of it. Also we need more awful french from Kris. French native speaker here :)

I’m a huge plate reverb fan but I’m dieting , but I keep springing up and down, if they all had a place to kick it for the thunder tank sound like the dano! Anasounds give ya a real spring (actually good for all seasons) kicker 🤘🏽

Thanks Steve! I really like the idea of the Danelectro, I just missed a little "body" and fullness of the verb. But hey, at least it doesn't cover up the whole pedalboard. Haha! //cheers, Kris
