“Mechanical sympathy” is a phrase you have used in other videos. Your expert explanations of proper servicing, in terms of how it affects the health and performance of a car, are most enlightening. I’ve learned so much about WHY proper care and maintenance are essential wellbeing of my car from your videos. If my car is happy, I will be happy.😃

Thanks for your kind words my friend. I'm only one guy passing on the tips I've picked up and I'm still learning along the way.

Super informative video. Appreciate it. I feel that the more videos I watch regarding oil, the more I understand how important it is to have clean engine oil.

I didn't really take good care of my first cars, but over the years I have learned much about the importance of oil so probably sound like a worn record now. I have a video on oil dilution coming up soon so keep an eye out for that one.

I keep saying this and I will continue to say it regardless of what some idiots think-motor oil is cheap compared to an engine rebuild or replacement. DO NOT listen to these moron car manufacturers that say extended oil change intervals are fine, change your motor oil every 3000-5000 miles depending on the engine type and how it runs. These 10,000 mile oil change intervals is the biggest scam ever, your engine will sludge up and fail eventually if you do this to any engine( diesel engines are the exception ). My 2011 Honda Accord euro has a K-24 engine in it with 260,000 kilometres on the odometer, the oil in it has been changed every 5000 kilometres since new and it uses no oil,the oil stays clean and engine runs like it’s new. The other thing is don’t use cheap motor oil and filters, always use good quality motor oil and filters.

Love your videos ( from the USA ). Where i live the car culture is lifted pick up trucks with big mud tires or very old American cars with candy paint and super large wheels 22” and bigger… so having a 2015 Audi TTS competition Pkg ( Imola Yellow ) stands out of the crowd and from my understanding it’s quite rare. As you stated in other videos … you can make specific content specific to a viewer. I’m new this car so I’m listening to all your videos featuring VAG so I can have a broad knowledge of this type of vehicle. Would like to see more recent videos talking on the Audi TTS 8J MK2. It’s weak points. It’s areas to be concerned of . Also would like to know if catch cans are needed even for a simple stage 1 ecu tune or not. Maintenance and so forth. ( EA113 engine last generation before the MK3 Audi ). 🙂 Keep up the great vids and thanks 🙏

Thks, great Video. Also consider if the car is diesel and has a DPF, regular Regens will contaminate oil with fuel and dirt(soot etc) whilst trying to clean the DPF (Filter). Idling or regular short Journeys will mean more carbon build up, consequently more frequent oil & oil filter change..

Very important point. I don't think people realize that regular short tips = SEVERY DUTY oil change interval. Yet, look at any service book and you'll find that it is - at best - done at the normal interval.

I mean if I started to smell engine oil inside the car I'd be screaming and panicking let alone thinking "is this normal?" haha, great video!

I change the oil in my 2015 Passat TDI when the info panel tells me Im done to 5% oil life left. For me thats usually around 7k to 7.5k miles, and I drive a mix of in town, highway and interstate in the US. Always use the Euro spec Mobil 1 for the TDI, but am open to suggestions for the best oil possible.

change oil and filter every 6 months or 6000miles / 9000km, and your good....

I just changed engine oil and serviced on my friends vw1.9 car he claims they last for ever . The last time it was serviced was when he bought it over 3 years 48k miles ago . Mmm only well know for long lasting it looked after . Could tell the engine sounds a bit quieter after oil/filter replaced . Wasn’t sluggish if that was 30years ago the would be like tar after that time millage .

I shudder to think - that poor engine and what it's been through!
