^^That is my favorite Page story. Also, I broke my toe during my internship at CNN by walking into a sign when I was running late one day (lol) and had to limp around the office in a walking boot for months. So, yeah, gets better!

Good video overall however this format feels like a lot more like just a script rather than an educated person teaching or explaining.

Love the content, but a couple editing things could be cleaned up. 1. The colored crosshatching background is a bit childish, I would look for a simpler and more professional background. 2. The stretching of the faces is also somewhat childish; the B Roll shouldn't take away from whats being said over it. 3. The fast talking at 9:06 was fairly annoying to listen to, but this is just a pet peeve. A better option may be to highlight specific points within the quote and while showing the entire quote on screen have the host hone in on the important part of the paragraph. This was a great episode and very informative, but the quality of the video just doesn't stack up to the quality of the research. If this was someone's first attempt, it was a great start.

I suspect the distorted images are to try and avoid photo copyright recognition software. So, not paying for content usage? Hidden joke, or manipulation of content to avoid rules and PAYING. Hmmm.

God this video is so busy. It's really hard to follow the message visually or audibly. It feels like four or five people wrote or produced their own portion of this piece. But when they put it all together no one was their to say "no" to the things that didn't fit or get the point across. Although if this peice was also meant to educate the ones making it. It's a great start. Keep it up.

This was really hard to follow and way too long. The editing wasn't up to standards to what BEME usually does. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great. This video feels more like something other sites would release. I would not stay subscribed if that was what your content looks like going forward.

We just got out of a strike here in Quebec, Canada against unpaid student internships. Our research showed that unpaid interns were also disproportionately women, in fields that are traditionally associated with "care", like education and health services. Yes, there are class and race issues, but also a nice healthy dose of sexism about what work gets paid and which falls under the "she does that for free" category...

great improvement from the last video you guys did, but I do agree with other people that it seems like its a little too fast passed and there needs to be more cohesion in the overall video. It feels like there are 3 writers who chose the same topic but didn't really synthesize their scripts into one before shooting the video. Keep it guys and I know you guys are going to continue to do great and improve in every video :D

So what is the definition of a paid internship in the US? Most internships in my country are paid, but the pay is far below minimum wage standards, so in my eyes it is still almost as bad. This also means that I have never seen an internship that paid according to minimum wage standards.

Requiring to pay interns is a HORRIBLE idea in some markets. For instance, I'm a Lead Programmer... MOST interns we get have a real lack of (understandable) skill/knowledge. It costs us (as mentors to the interns) real time + money. We do not put interns on any paid projects or client work. However very few interns can actually do programming work on a level of a paid employee anyway. If you make us pay interns we will simply stop doing this service to the community (by giving them positions that literally cost us time + money) and the interns will miss out on the resume and mentor building opportunity. Most interns tell us they learn way more 'in the real world' during our intern projects than they do in a class.

They do cover your issue @8:00. But the issue is a majority of bad actors. In your case the interns are not replacing employees, and are reeving education. I applaud your hard work.

In the UK, unpaid internships are illegal and in my opinion it's much better this way. Internships do not just benefit the students, this is especially relevant for engineering/programming roles where companies here view internships as a key part of graduate recruitment. I did 3 successive internships with the same company and they are now my employer. Without paying me, I couldn't have afforded the cost of accommodation and travel in another city.
