Ever grappled with the pain of infidelity, manipulation, or the aftermath of separation in your marriage? Are you seeking clarity and perspective to illuminate your path towards self-love and a healthier marriage? We have a conversation with Cody Wambolt, a client representative at Marriage Helper, who shares the stories of those confronting these struggles and the transformations they've experienced.
Stories of personal growth and transformation are at the center of our discussion. We unearth the journey of a woman who, despite enduring verbal abuse and demands for divorce, managed to turn her life around. The story unveils how understanding her husband's personality, learning to communicate more effectively, and making significant changes in her behavior, allowed her to not only impact her marriage but also her children and social and professional circles. This compelling account underscores the power of personal growth and how it can create ripples in all aspects of life.
As we wrap up the episode, we share how to get in touch with the dedicated team here at Marriage Helper. Tune into Relationship Radio to fill your hearts with hope and your minds with invaluable advice.

"Let no man separate what God has joined together", so God says every marriage is worth saying because marriage is a symbolic representation of God's faithfulness to your spouse until the very end... no matter how bad the unfaithfulness is. See Hosea to see another example.
@davidm4566
@davidm4566 8 ай бұрын
The key here, as you said, is "what God had joined together." God hates divorce, and therefore we should try our best to make it work, but not every marriage was put together by God. Unless there was abuse or adultery we need to make it work, But sometimes there's abuse or adultery present and that is not from God and most likely not put together by him.

Please search scripture as a whole and reconsider your position. There are serial adulterers (potential addicts), abusing their spouse emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically. Jesus reiterated that divorce is permissible for adultery. That doesn’t mean mandated so if a couple chooses to work through it, that’s up to them and God. Having a spouse in unrepentant sin with no desire to change or honor God is a very serious thing and expecting a partner to remain in an extremely unsafe relationship like that is harmful to the partner and implies that God cares more about marriage than He does about the person (people) He has made in His image. Hosea is a picture of God’s love toward each of us as the spiritual adulterers. While God may lead an individual to follow in Hosea’s steps, it is certainly not the expectation for every believer. Reconciliation in that situation may be an ideal, noble, and godly goal, but should not be forced at the expense of the safety, heart, mind, and essence of another by one who is continually defiling the marriage bed and His Bride.

Thank you for what you are doing. More grace. I have a question, how possible is it to get back a husband who has abandoned his wife and children for over three decades and has attached himself to another woman who has grown children,and has also given him a son who also now has a family of his own?

I attended the couples workshop with my wife last may, and even though she's home she has shown no interest in reconciliation or working on the marriage. I feel like I spent all this money and have to keep spending money and my marriage isn't getting fixed. She has said she wants a divorce, and i told her that i dont want that. I continue to stand for my marriage and even though she hasn't said it in a while about the divorce, there's no headway or intimacy between us. I want my marriage back, I want my wife back, I want the closeness and intimacy we once had back and I feel like she's listening to everyone else in her life who is telling her to give up on the marriage. I keep working on my PIES, and I get nowhere...how can we get back on the love path if she refuses to even try?!

Shes not into you and most likely into someone else. If she isnt riding a new horse already shes certainly already got the saddle picked out. Retain your dignity. Leave.

Keep working on your Pies to be the best you can be for you. If you're looking at it as PIES are to get her back, change your mindset. That shift in mindset if you do it for you and not to save your marriage will shift everything. It's hard to remember but if you want to save this marriage you want to show up as your best self. And when she sees that subconsciously it will change how she perceives you. Your best self for you changes your life in every way with everyone. And bonus if she comes back to you. Maybe the mindset you have in the way you are working on your Pies is somehow a PUSH behavior that they discuss here on marriage helper. How she perceives your energy is all something that happens subconsciously Our behaviors are our subconscious mind, everything in the past we've been through since childhood. You'll know you're doing your PIES in a better way when you have least fear and impatience for her return. We get impatient when we don't get what we want when you want. Maybe you are doing your Pies for her and not you. And from that comes impatience negate you're not getting her back on your timing. Let her come back on her timing. There's no way we can do our PIES flawlessly. Think about what gets you off track or what push behaviors you have slipped on and come up with better ways to handle and prevent them in the future. The person in the comment above is a different person with their own life experiences. When they say to move on, they're trying to help you with best intentions. However PIES always wins your best self for you and for whoever you end up with, will love the version of yourself that you did for you. Doing this for you is the most selfless act for you. I wish you the best I pray for you both. Remember love is patient. Love is kind. Be patient and kind to yourself. PIES is a journey not a means to an end.

@yourredcomrade717 before anything else, she's into herself. It's not about him, this is about her stuck in her own mind. She's confused and it's not always about another horse in the pic. She's doing this to herself and it's hard to remember she's not doing it TO him. She needs to go through her own storm and it sucks when it hits loved ones but lessons will be learned.
