Resounding theme in most if Daniel's videos; education is key! You have to study these coins inside and out. If you want to just buy and flip coins and not invest time, you're gonna get burnt.

Great video Daniel! I've heard about the fake coins in fake holders. This shed more light on the subject. Before you said anything I thought the label looked off, and the coin had a porous surface. I didn't catch the date discrepancy. Things like this are why I buy all my coins from PCC. I am confident I'll get exactly what I paid for, and the price will be consistent with the market for what other coins have sold for. It always pays to buy from a trusted professional. Daniel is that man.

I always verify the serial number and picture on the website of the grading site...I remember over 10 years ago, a good friend , a coin dealer, he showed me a bucket of over 20 common dated fake slabbed merc dimes ...the coin dealer friend of mine, told be that the main reason that the counterfeiters slabbed common dates... because they would be inspected less than a 1916D mercury dime ...he had been a dealer for years and just was relaxed when he purchased those slabbed fakes and got burned ....I think he gave 5 bucks each

Thanks Daniel. First thing I noticed was that label. It just didn't look right to me. I didn't like how the label fit either. Now you mention it, I didn't even notice the date was incorrect but I think I would have in hand looking it over. Yes the 95 would be a Morgan. I am no expert but I honestly didn't like the grade either. I think it was a low AU50 or even an XF. Seems to be allot of red flags on this thing. (don't test me at Shronville..lol)

I need to go through my grandfather's penny jar 5 gallon glass jar full of coins to the top 10yrs been sitting in my closet on day buying a good coin microscope . The last yr he filled the 5 gallon glass water jug was 1982 it was done being filled up . My grand mom 10yrs ago had me take it out of his basement boy it was heavy lol . So will be going through the coins this month got to in June but a coin microscope 1st . I collect silver rounds and bars for years myself .I also have sliver proof mint sets left to me from 69 to 79 10 yrs from my Grandpop and hess trucks too in the box 69 to 79. I love sliver 999 .9999 fine world wide some gold coins from the 1920s been sitting on it the gold since 1988 . Love sliver . Thanks 👍🏼 for your help great work content to teach us

That's actually a pretty good fake holder. The dead giveaway for most fakes is they don't have pcgs etched in the plastic on the bottom right.

That's the best fake slab ever. They even mimicked a typical PCGS goof up with that date. I'm dsylxeic so at first I was going "no way that says 1895 O." Nope, read it right. Thanks for the video. You pointed out good stuff like "sometimes they use a real cert." I always forget they can do that. That's cheating! 😂

If you're new to the coin hobby, you've come across the right man. Daniel is a true professional. I've done lots of business with him and always been satisfied with my purchases. Dangggg.. I wish I could’ve sent you a pair of counterfeit 1880-CC Morgan dollars that were in fake PCGS holders that we got in our store. They were not great replicas but to the untrained eye could definitely fool someone. Would’ve been a great instructional tool to use for a video

I believe I have come across such a problem not exactly a fake coin but a coin holder with what I think was a swapped coin as the holder looked as though it might have been opened by one corner.

I've seen worse and I've seen better, most haven't seen either. I do videos for those who don't know, those who haven't seen. I have the wisdom to understand that just because I know something and can see something, that everyone else does too. It's something you need to learn. Not everyone knows what you know.
