Well, most of inexpensive consumer routers suck, because they don't have enough capacity for all bandwidth they advertise. They use cheap arch based around software-based LLC with slow CPUs because power limit in those devices won't allow for anything hotter. Although, they usually do support at least full wireless bandwidth across link layer and Ethernet MAC usually includes switch circuitry, so everything across single device works at full bandwidth. For example, gigabit router may have 1Gbps across LAN ports (switch mode), but only ~300-400Mbps between LAN->WAN ports (traffic going through link layer). If you need more, consider custom (PC-based) or industrial solutions instead of highly priced home kit.
@builder396
@builder396 4 жыл бұрын
@@Weaknespase Or your router has to sit the exact opposite end of the house were WiFi practically doesnt reach you, Powerline gets too much interference for full bandwidth and your landlord forbits you from utilizing a 20 m lan cable, so youre stuck with 60 mbit/s out of 100 via powerline.

MIMO does work if both the router AND the client device have built-in multiple antennas. All it does is use special math to encode data and send 'diverse' streams of signals through multiple antennas while the receiving end decode it by using the same math in order to compute the delay between the 'echoes' sent by those antennas to reconstruct the original signal. It is an efficient technique to cram more bandwidth in a crowded 2.4ghz and even 5 ghz space so you do not need to use additional channels (i.e. 40mhz width for 2.4ghz) that could irate your neighbors due to interference.
@LainK1978

I've found that most router tech makes your internet less reliable, so I usually turn off EVERYTHING and make it as basic as possible. Tends to be much more reliable! I also set the router to reboot every other day at 2am to keep it fresh. Used to have it ping Google every 3 seconds and reboot if the ping failed, but that managed to brick a router after a several hour long internet outage...

The case for the second computer I built didn't have quite enough air-flow. And, when I added a third hard-drive, this became a problem; I had to pull the side cover off every time I wanted to game. Now, a heat sink wouldn't have helped because the issue was lack of air-flow, you could press you hand to the side panel and actually worry that you might burn yourself if it got any hotter. I did get some cheap, hard-drive fans that did the trick. The only issue, they were cheap, so the wires weren't well soldered on very well. I had to thread them into the plugins, and use the connectors they were soldered to as clamps to hold them in place.

I just commented this under your Android on Switch video: "My boss just gave me his >10 year old (almost never used) Nintendo DS lite last friday. Such a nostalgic feeling to play Dr. Kawashima's "More brain training" natively without my phone. Sadly, he didn't have my favorite games: Mario Kart and Mario Party. And those two games don't run well with emulation on my phone... Maybe I should ask my small brother (who had my old NDS lite) if he still has it with my games or even a "super card" (that's what we call the R4 DS card)." Now I see the animation with the black NDS lite at 1:05... Just think about that for a minute 😂. Are you stalking me??? Even more funny, I thought about also writing about the (unfortunately now dead) Nintendo Wi-Fi-Connection. And then I see the WiFi "beams" in the animation. That almost makes me cry 😥

Tplink c6 is 5 antenna with 3 2.4ghz antennas and 2 5ghz antennas working both at the same time with mu mimo and .ac standard as well, along with per user network prioritization. Best upgrade ever no drop on 26mbps on optic fiber routed network provider.
