I used to be amazed by how AWFUL the elite smash players were when Marss played them. Then in a recent stream I matched against him. And now I get it. This man sees through this game like its glass. I was doing the worst options I had ever done. I was getting played like I never had before. I consider myself a decent player at the absolute lowest level. I have gotten 2nd place at my local a few times. I can run circles around my friends when we play. but I was EMBARRASSED when I played Marss's sheik with my main. He shut me out, combo'd me, and threw needles at me until I decided to SD to take the noble way out. I went on stream and donated my lunch money as penance.

@@motizz69420 hard work can mean many things. Practicing often, labbing tech and setplay, etc. The way I'd say Marss works hard is in his gameplay. He moves around characters that hit much harder then ZSS, and mistakes are very punishing when you mess up as her. Watch him fight a steve or G&W and you can see the ratio of neutral wins to losses Marss needs to succeed. That's my perspective anyway. Winning tournament sets vs top players isn't easy, regardless of character.

Marss, low-key you should go to japan but more specifically watch the ZSS WIFI style of Japan. It's not the optimal way to play offline even in Japan but what's USEFUL about it is the wifi style of ZSS for them helps you see the "wall" that she directly acknowledges they hate. There is a reason Acola had his win streak ended by light-ZSS from a reverse 3. And it wasn't just the MU.

Curious to hear people’s thought on Palutena being anti-meta? From what I saw mentioned about cloud at least, her up air is absolute bullshit and she can ledgetrap and edge guard pretty well. As everyone complains about her aerials do a decent amount of damage and can be stringed together, down throw is usable (I say usable because you can di so the Palu can’t follow up at some percentages), she has no issue killing, also has usable projectiles. More comparison to cloud being that she, like cloud, is a fundies character. Now I’m a biased Palutena main and I always hear people complain about her but never see her making any big moves consistently since Nairo (whom I no longer support) years ago. So if you disagree. Or agree, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

The sonic matchup isn't terrible. But its not good at all either. Its a matter of who gets the lead and then keeps it. GnW you said it with range. Steve doesn't get to put up blocks cuz whip goes through blocks but has to in order to block cross.

What is a character that ZSS, Corrin, Cloud and the Belmonts all struggle against to some extent? ...Pyra Mythra, of course. A character who happens to be one of the most common secondaries in the game already. If people try to counter Steve, G&W, or Sonic with those anti-meta characters, the Aegis will likely take over again, mark my word.
