This song bring back so many memories. I was in the military and listened to Isaac Hayes and Bobby Womack a lot. This song was my favorite. I went into the Military right out of high school and I was also in Love with someone who was with another man. I was sent to Europe right out of Basic Training and after returning home after my year tour and married the woman I was in love with and was happily married to her for 49 years until her passing in 2020. I miss her dearly. That is why this song means so much to me

Back in the day my Daddy had this song on a reel to reel, when he and Mom would leave the house we (us kids) would sneak and play his equipment and would have to queue it back to this song, so he would not know we we had played it. Sometimes we would get busted and if we did we would have to wash his car. He and Mom listened to this song on the weekends when they entertained, or when it was just the two of them having a drink together on a Friday night. Thank God for our memories. Sometimes I can just sit and think of my great childhood and get to relive it if just for a few moments in thought. Thank you Isaac for being a part of my fabric of life.

Multigenerational listening.. my uncle would come down the block walking home from work smoking his pipe singing ...LOL..his fave was Me & Mrs Jones.. old grey haired..middle age ...guys in their 30s...teens...kids...it was all our soundtrack..everyone heard these songs they were our music ..liked or disliked or "older stuff is bettah" or "you need to put on some Miles Davis!" but heard collectively. 1974 is 50 years in the past. Those 5 or 6 years from 1968-1974 just unbelievable we felt we were moving the right way..black working class was holding these communities together.

I'm so happy to see you - all my brothers & sisters - STILL listening to this 'ole school' (OS) music. Who, me? Well, I'm just STUCK on 'ole school' for eternity. That's mostly what I play 'cuz it's real music -- not a bunch of electronically generated sounds, where you can't even hear or understand the words. So I just go up & down my list of OS songs (jazz, blues, pop, whatever!) and entertain myself all night long - sometimes 'til 3 or 4:00 am. THIS SHIT IS TIMELESS!!!!! #me4walls&mymusic

There will never be a voice like that of "Isaac Hayes" I have heard this song since I was a Little boy, I am 63-years old now. But I still listen to this song. This song played a very important role in my life, while I was stationed in "GERMANY" as. U. S. Army soldier. God only knows how many years I shedded over this song. I love Mr. Hayes dearly....may God rest his soul

I was a bebop when this song came out. Man, all I can say is, I wish I could somehow say a magic word that could take me back. Unfortunately, we all know that cant happen. But, to be able to hear this music in this day, is something I'll settle for. The best doesn't have to be in the past as long as music like this can take you back. 🌹
