It's about meeting quotas! The mayor was even touting how the Scorpion Unit arrested over 400 people in a short time...they didnt ever wonder how that was possible of if these people were innocent....they took the cops word and incarcerated majority black people The mayor and police chief also needs to be held accountable!

@Sara Mill It's not racism like the liberals want people to believe. It's about meeting quotas by these black police officers. It didn't matter if they incarcerated innocent people or not. They had the power to make false narratives and make excuses such as they feared for their lives or that the suspect tried to grab their guns. These cops were corrupt and got away with so much and thought they can keep doing it. Its not racism... its evil corrupt cops!

The original business model of KZbin was annoying, but at least the ads were reasonable. New flood of invasive, repetitive, and offensive ads are EVIL. Google is now fully dedicated to doing any evil that seems profitable. And censoring complaints, too.

*******based on the provided statement from the author ••• Isabel Wilkerson when she used the Tyre Nichols tragedy as an example of how a caste system was already developed between African•Americans-Black People reminded me of the severe division that took place between African slaves in the Colonial American 🇺🇸 times (as early as the 16th century) ••• not only African families were divided during the slave auction in this new world (Colonial America 🇺🇸) but they were divided even further into two types of slaves (i.e. field workers vs. house workers who served + was severely programmed by the slave owners to think lesser of the field workers)*****the caste concept the author described in the portion of the interview dug open this critical piece of African•American-Black History**** An American 🇺🇸 History that CANNOT BE forgotten + ignored*******

In her book she says casteism came from Hinduism when the word caste is not even an Indian term - it is portugese and those guys had a concept of 'blood purity' (similar to racial purity of black people where even an ounce of black blood made you black). The british census and subsequent criminal tribes act solidified people's station in life, solidified their community barriers which had been loose before and criminalized martial communities. The lingering effects last till today yet she says it is based in Hindu scriptures (wanton mistranslations). Stop essentializing people to their lowest denominator. I am American first and a woman second before ANY of my other identities.

Needing to be told over and over again, because you "keep forgetting," is not okay. Asking the nice black lady to singlehandedly compensate for cradle-to-grave white-nationalist hate-propaganda, is not okay, either.

Finally figuring it out. When did civil rights make the most advances? When it was aligned with workers' rights. Separate the two and they both fail miserably. Listen up "Identity politics" advocates. You can't have social justice without economic justice. When you allowed the oligarchs to separate the two: that is the precise moment that "culture wars" became the dominant political noise. You can't advance civil rights at the expense of worker's rights, no matter how much the oligarchs promise you. Meanwhile, quietly in the background of the loud culture war, class warfare is being waged upon workers and it has proven to be so successful, that the oligarchs are even tapping their toe in the water about "sunsetting" Social Security. Some advice: Make this about class warfare, instead of race/gender/sexual orientation warfare, and you might just eventually see Democratic super majorities in the legislature again. You know, like what we enjoyed during the last vestiges of FDR's "New Deal. A time when Democratic politics were strong enough for civil rights to advance. When LBJ's "Great Society" had solid political traction. I hope the lesson was learned. Never advance your identity "cause" at the expense of the working class. You will only chase workers into the arms of FOX propaganda. There is a reason why the Democrats are failing at politically destroying a GOP that sympathizes with coup plotters, is historically unethical, and grossly incompetent.

It's not okay that Lawrence O'Donnell is acting like he's hearing this for the first time. It's _also_ not okay that he's (explicitly) normalizing the act of persistently _"forgetting"_ this plainly obvious fact. How many times, in how many synonymous phrases, across how many decades & centuries, does it need to be restated? These concepts were not only being discussed 50 years ago, but the discussion was more advanced than it currently is. I have no patience left for people who act like progress is inevitable, and that baby-steps are tolerable.
