I must know that this video is beautiful not because of SLR Magic Cine Primes but because it is filmed and edited by Philip Bloom. I must know... - my credit card said.

Thanks Mr Bloom for posting this. Isabella Plantation is a lovely spot where my Mother often visited when she was alive. I grew up round the Park but haven't been back to the Plantation for a while, not until now that is. Thanks again for this gentle piece. All the best.

Great cheap lenses. If you want sharp lenses then get modern Sony glass. If you want something with character and more like a vintage lens then get these.

Wow Philip, I'm actually very impressed by these Cine primes. They kind of remind of some of the older speed panchros and Anamorphic superspeeds. Much cleaner than adapting Anamorphic scopes with taking lens and much more practical and usable for real world shooting. Love the bokeh and the color reproduction. Overall how would you say they are to work with in terms of pulling focus and the smoothness of the gears?
@MikeKoPhotography7 жыл бұрын
hi phillip! Really enjoyed the video. The SLR prime lenses, very nice! question, have you compared these lenses to the Veydras? I'm looking for small cine primes and this and the Veydra are high on my list. BTW - I shoot almost exlusively in super 35. THanks!

Hey, I love your work and your style? I'm a first year film student and I'm just wondering if you use the grading technique "faded film", or how do you achieve this look? :) And could you please have a external recorder comparison? When you compare the atomos vs the odyssey and compare the uses of them on different cameras like the fs7, a7s, gh5, canon 300! Would really love a in depth comparison made by you with all your experience! Keep up the great work! :)

I noticed that this video is quite a wide aspect ratio? I checked the stats for nerd section and it says 1920x818. Did not realise KZbin accepted natively content that isn't 16:9 without black bars?
@cbwagner72696 жыл бұрын
I assume black bars added in post so the file is still 16:9
@gmaxstudios6 жыл бұрын
Yes. It does.
@gmaxstudios6 жыл бұрын
There are many reasons not to "overlay" black bars on top of a 16:9 file but actually create a project in the aspect ratio that you want it to be in. As Matthew discovered - Mr. Bloom did the same.

Does 12mm and 25mm have the same sensor size coverage? I bought to of those lens and using on my MFT sensor and the 25mm looks like 50mm and it's perfect but the 12mm looks way wider than 14mm. Is it just the way it feels or is it actuary wider? If anybody can answer, please comment on this.
