DISCLAIMER 1.) No, pores don't physically open and close, I'm aware of this. This is terminology used in the beauty community that's just a general understanding that pores can tighten or better absorb due to different products or treatments. 2.) Yes, I know wipes are not sufficient at cleansing nor are they good for the environment. I should have explained more clearly that I only use them as emergency makeup removal! As I explained - On the odd occasion after a night out or if I don't have access to facewash. I usually buy biodegradable, I'm strategic on only using one if I do use them, I'm not excessive and always use products sparingly, one packet will usually take me months to finish. Hope that clears a few things up! peace x

These are really great habits from a medical perspective, but the one about steaming your face before applying a clay mask is not accurate. Pores are not muscles, they will not shrink or widen depending on conditions such as steam/ice cubes. Some people have naturally big pores and that’s completely fine, in fact they actually get bigger when we age due to sagging effect . When you have large pores it means there are quite some toxins that your skin is trying to purge out, using a clay mask helps with their appearance that but I suggest talking about it to a dermatologist so he/she can prescribe something that works great for the real issue (if there’s any) and not just their appearance. Quick advice: Stop wearing heavy makeup on a daily basis and pay attention to your diet (reduce/ cut out junk food) so your pores will appear smaller and more importantly healthier!!

I don't eat junk food at all and I don't do a full face makeup but I do have large pores
@n.d23604 жыл бұрын
Lilit Potter Is your skin naturally oily? My oily skin caused me acne vulgaris and large pores on the way, my dermatologist prescribed Isotretinoin for me which I took for over a year. Now my skin is way less oily and my pores appear to be a lot smaller than before.
@IsabellaDemarko4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for clarifying, I have been skeptic about the hot and cold opening prose thing but I do believe the steam is good for the skin occasionally like saunas. I don’t wear heavy make up at all really, maybe once or twice a week and I eat really well and drink plenty water. It’s been like this for years, tried all kind of pore treatments and nothing budges them. I just kinda accept it now. x
@n.d23604 жыл бұрын
Isabella Demarko Yes steam is good for the face! And relaxing too ;) It allows the skin to absorb more topical products, perhaps you want to steam your face once a week and then do your facial massage as usual.

I really appreciate the language you use when talking about self-care / grooming habits. how its always first and foremost, for you because its something you enjoy. Also seems like your skin and my skin like the same kinds of products...for clay mask, have you tried Aztec Secret - Healing Indian Clay? its like $12/lb and you can mix with apple cider vinegar for a foaming facial feel. one of my go-to's
@bean22754 жыл бұрын
never mix it with apple cider vinegar its very intense. it might work for some people but for the majority its really hard on your face esp for sensitive skin
@IsabellaDemarko4 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙏🏼 no I haven’t ! X
@juliegeorge38174 жыл бұрын
@@bean2275 it is certainly more intense when mixed with the vinegar! everyone's skin is different so, as with everything, always good to modify to your needs. i personally like the extra exfoliation when mixed with vinegar. my skin is very sensitive to chemicals but also prone to clogged pores and build up, so i enjoy this more natural alternative to a peel. always good spot test when trying new products to see how your skin reacts before going all in

Interesting how people smoosh their faces when sleeping? I've been a side sleeper since forever and I always corrected myself when I felt my face getting smooshed, even when I'm asleep ill wake up because I hate the feeling so much. I think a cheaper way to prevent wrinkles is to train yourself to correct your position when you feel it happen.

I use the body shop oils of life eye cream during the day and it's really great. i find that most eye creams are quite heavy/oily but this one is kind of like a gel and absorbs quickly. plus, I have definitely seen a difference in my undereyes since i started using it. it is a bit pricey but you use so little every time that it lasts ages, so in my mind it is worth it. 10/10 would recommend if you like the body shop and are looking for a different eye cream.
