Evelynn Jhoanne 😂😂😂💚 I still am prone to stress as I run my own company, but honestly the littlest things like being aware of my breathing & going for daily hour long walks, those things tackle the cortisol! Then sleep is sooo big, too...and ‘stressful thinking’ which a lot of people call ‘negative thinking’ like, focusing on all the worst things happening in the world and feeling out of control and spiraling...that shit literally gives us spots! 😂😭💚

Do you chug water or you do you take sips here and there? Just a thought. I have to over hydrate to donate blood and I do that by taking sips of water waiting a couple seconds rather than downing a bottle in one breath (I used to do that a lot). Idk but stay hydrated!

Biggest tip: your skin care shouldn’t hurt. As a teen I was so upset by my skin I used really harsh products with the ideal of ‘no pain no gain’ and I couldn’t have been more wrong. If it burns, TAKE IT OFF! You’re just making it so much worse.

Is because it gets dry after pain because burns but u have to apply some moisturizer that makes your skin regenerate. Probably those moisturizer that are prescribed when you are taking acne pills like isotetrinoin they prescribe good moisturizer as complement use that

There is 'good tingly' and 'bad tingly' aka chemical burns. Some products actually give a slight tingly feeling which can be a little uncomfortable but that just means they are working properly. That's why patch testing is so important when trying a new product out.

youre not wrong but youre also not entirely correct. My dermatologist prescribed me some crèmes(3) n id have to use them everyday and how they worked was they burned my pimples n skin in general. The first 2 weeks my skin looked like it had gotten sunburned but that was the effect of the crèmes. I had severe acne to a point where he told me id be put on pills that would make me dizzy for a long time if i wanted to clean my skin completely. The thing is when i went to get my skin checked he couldnt believe how much my skin had improved, he literally double checked his documents and asked me if he fr had wrote on his pc to prescribe pills for me. To sum up these cremes that burned my skin and hurted like hell saved my life. if your dermatologist prescribed it for you then its probably for the best but if u use random stuff n they hurt your skin sis throw them out

After I found Korean skincare and learned all about different acids and serums and essences and double cleansing my skin changed SO much for the better! I have not had bad breakouts in the last 3 years at all. I find it so funny how people are scared to use more products when all these right products really do help.

tbh it depends on the individual's skin there is another "trend" going on in Korea called the "Skincare diet" where the goal is basically to use the least amount of skincare products as possible and that has really helped my skin a ton, especially since the winter season has ruined my skin barrier and made it super dry, inflamed, red, sensitive, etc. so not everyone should be using more products tbh for me, it's always quality over quantity and the Korean company that I base most of my products off of (Krave Beauty) believes in the same philosophy as well so in the end, its always different for everybody and what works for them

I have used glycolic acid (cleansers, toners, and treatments at night) for 24 years. It has paid off. I am 48 and when I was 47, a new massage therapist thought I was 32. That is the ultimate complement, thinking I am still in my 30s. In my 30s, I used vitamin A during the day and in my 40s, I started vitamin C during the day. It really has paid off for me. I too had acne in my mid to late 20s and did 2 rounds of Accutane and it still came back. I am so glad that I stopped it and did tons of research. Water is also essential. Clay masking every other day for 20 years.

@@somerandomasmrr Yes. Start out with a low pH, low molecular structure glycolic cleanser every other night, leave on for 20 to 30 seconds, rinse with warm water. The low pH allows it to get into the pore and dissolve all the oil dirt, and debris. Then work up to every night, then morning and night as your skin tolerates it. I have thick skin that is not sensitive so I can handle the acids well. However, if you have sensitive skn, go slow or you will get red and peeling skin. Then, about twice a week, add in a glycolic pad of some sort at night. Also, a glycolic serum and/or cream very other night. My favorite brand is serious skin care - the glycolic line. Also Peter Thomas Roth has glycolic peel pads and cleansers. Pixi has wonderful 20 percent glycolic pads too. Remember, go slow for sensitive skin. If you have acneic skin it will greatly improve in about 3 to 5 months.

The Skincare Bible by Anjali Mahto is a really great book by a certified dermatologist who herself had acne, it explains in depth things that Melanie mentions such as retinoids, acids etc. She explains what they are, why and how they work and she recommends products for your skin type. It goes through whats good for your skin for all different skin types and basically is literally a bible for anyone who wants to know more about their skin and how to look after it properly

Regarding spf correct amount, and skincare in general, check out Dr Sam Bunting here on youtube. She has a 13 dot technique which helps when wanting to actually get the spf protection it says on the product etc.

The snail gel from Holland and barrett faded my adult acne scars in a matter of weeks! I had tried every single trick in the book and nothing even remotely worked. The product doesn't mention anything about scarring,but it faded my scars completely or to very minimal in other areas. I cannot recommend it enough.

All you people who have problems with peeing all your water out, you've got to drink lukewarm water, and you've got to drink it slowly throughout the day. When you drink freezing-cold water, your body spends more time warming it up than it does actually absorbing it. By the time it has warmed the water, it's all the way at the end of your digestive system. Also, don't just chug a whole glass of water. Just take a few sips here and a few sips there every few minutes all day. When you chug water, it's the same problem. Your body doesn't absorb like 12 oz of water at a time, so it all gets flushed out before your body can absorb it all. Drinking lots of water won't work unless you take steps to make your body actually absorb it. Otherwise, you'll just be peeing all the time.

I COMPLETELY RELATE TO THIS!! I'm in university too, and most of my acne comes from me laying my head on the desk bcz of the boring lectures. I get lots of pimples and breakouts from where my skin touches the dirty surface. I never really noticed it until I would be on a break from college or during the summer, winter or spring break my skin goes back to looking healthy and fresh. so I stopped letting my face touch any surface that might not be clean and voila! my acne was reduced by a lot! I mean I still have pimples and zits due to my senstive oily skin and hormonal imbalance... but a big part of my acne was gone due to this simple realization and baby step.

@@QuLaSi I've noticed something similar, I have a motorcycle and I need to use a helmet, it touches my face in the cheeks and forehead, and there's where I get pimples, I try to clean it regularly, but the pads are to thick and it takes almost 2 days to dry. I have to say that since I tried keeping it clean my acne has been better.

What they tell you: "You get acne when you hit puberty." What they actually mean: "Acne STARTS with puberty." Noone mentioned anything about them stopping.

Vale sth I had spots when I was a teenager, I still got a few in my twenties and thirties, then late thirties I got cystic acne! Great eh? But it doesn’t happen very much now thankfully, but I hated it, makes you feel so bad about yourself x

Maybe it's already stuff you do, but do not touch your face with your hands, try to avoid it as much as possible, especially your nails should stay far far away from your face (and also, don't let others touch it)! I wrote a more extensive comment above into the answer section of Melanie's comment, if you're interested, but the base line is: keep your stuff that absolutely has to touch your face as clean as possible (like your hands when you put on cream, e.g. don't touch your phone on between cleaning and cream etc), or exchange pillow cases very often; listen to your skin (if food/a cream/product doesn't work or makes you break out, just ditch it); don't overdo it (sometimes more is too much and less is better, again, it depends on your skin, so listen to it).

I'm a farmer here in Greece. And I swear that after working, I feel like my skin is soft and supple because the toxins came out thru sweating (of course wear a lot of sunscreens, sun protection clothing, drink lots of water and consume a good amount of fruits and veggies) ..By the way Mel,I am your avid viewer since 2014 and I always enjoy your videos about makeup and skin care ❤❤❤

That happens to me as well when I do housework. My face gets a really pretty glowy-rosy look. I believe it is due to the increased blood circulation in your face and body.

Les Diaz vitamin C serum (e.g. Klairs vitamin C drop for sensitive skin), hyaluronic acid and vitamin e to hydrate and ‘rebuilt’ the skin cells. Also try glycolic (idk how to write it) or salicid acid to exfoliate the dead skin cells (try to stick with chemical, because it’s milder than physical (beads, etc.) . The beads irritate the skin even more. Last but not least, try to calm your skin (for example aloe vera or centella asiatica), your skin is already irritated and crazy enough, it doesn’t need any more (no alcohol or heavy fragrances). Be nice for your skin, cleanse, exfoliate, tone, serum, hydrate, spf)

mindfully cleaning your face! its so easy just to slap face wash on but that can mean you miss areas or don't clean them properly. focus on what you're cleaning and make sure you get it ALL. also the mario badescu toner sprays are my holy grails, makes the biggest difference to my skin and can't live without!

Elite second this! I’m sure her skin is perfect still but I’ve noticed in skincare videos that the bright lights or even natural light and a bit of makeup and that skews the way the skin naturally looks. It usually isn’t a drastic difference but still. Skin looks a little more..lived in. Also! Another pet peeve of mine is the before and after pics in thumbnails, with the before pic in crappy lighting emphasizing the acne and the after in bright ass sunlight washing out their face and glowing it tf up and turning it briiiight golden. Essentially a sunlight filter if that makes sense. I’m sick of the tomfoolery😭

Using witchazel as toner has tremendously helped me with my acne and keeping it under control and also evening my skintone! It dries out active breakouts and kills bacteria on the skin.

Hey, it may be different for everyone else but the alcohol in it over time can break down natural elements on your skin. I switched to rose water and I think it works even better tbh. My acne scars clear up really quickly.

It´s interesting how many products you use and work for you. I did this too a couple of years ago. And my skin looked horrible. It got worse and worse. Cystic acne all over my face! I tried everything, all different kind of products. And then I just stopped. I do not wash my skin anymore. And my cystic acne disappeared! I put some olive oil on it from time to time if it seems dry but I do not use foundation and do not clean it with anything. The very reddish areas disappeared too. Now my skin looks amazing. I guess every skin is different? For other people it helped too. Very complicated things, these human bodies.

Yes, you're skin is maybe sensitive ♥️ washing the face gets rid of all the oils on your face, and then your body works hard to produce it, but ends up overproducing it, which is why I only wash my face once or twice a day! Greasy skin should never be over washed, as I found out lol ♥️

Same thing happened to me, when I finally _stopped_ using a bunch of face products my skin is the best it's ever been. Sometimes, if it's feeling a little dry, I'll put on a bit of basic Nivea moisturiser. Though, I *always* put on a bit of sun cream in the morning.

My skin has freaked out after I tried to use skin care. I'm breaking out, having red areas on my skin, etc. I've tried all the expensive products but it just gets to annoyed even with just cleansing or moisture. If I cleanse and apply moisturizer once a day, in the evening, then next morning my skin will be a greasy mess and have broken out. It never did that back when I didn't care for it. Yet I'm afraid of NOT using skin care products, because everyone tells you you have to so you don't get ugly skin when you're older..

@ParadiseLost I got the same feelings. It`s like you are breaking a holy rule if you don`t use skin care products. But I think, if your skin is breaking out it`s a sign that this is not for your skin. My mother washed her face as she was told to when she was young. She bought very expensive products. And she said, it ruined her skin. Now she never uses products and says, if she didn`t had used it in the first place she would have amazing skin (she is nearly 70 and I think it`s true). It`s more important what you put in your body than on your skin. Your skin is an organ that needs nutrients. Melanie said it in the video too. And I think, if someone eats healthy, than it`s not a big deal if you don`t use skin care. Moreover, you will not have acne scars. I just tried to encourage you a bit because I know the fear so well but I think it`s important to listen to your body and try to find out what works for you and not what everyone tells you.

Finally a video from someone who hasn’t been doing this their whole lives, and it’s maintenance rather than revamping. It gives me hope, since I’ve started taking care if my skin at 21, so about 4 years ago, that I can get better skin. Sometimes I feel defeated looking in the mirror, thinking I started too late and so that all I’m doing is maintaining and keeping my ugly skin from getting even worse. It can feel like, why bother? So, thank you. I’ve had awful skin since 10years old. I look forward to one day experiencing good skin

Harsh acids damage the skin and cause inflammation. The consequence of inflammation is swelling so while your skin may look more plump and fresh right after using acids, long-term they damage the skin, increase oxidative stress and cause premature aging. Acids should only be used for treament of skin condition such as acne or every now and then, for spots.

@@GLamoRousCooKie well yes but chemistry is an amazing thing and people dont have to use 15% glycolic they can use 5%mandelic or some form of pha and they are many toners for exame that contain acids and other sklthing agents such asiatic acid madecassoside (sorry i killed the spelling haha) panthenol ,niacinamide etc!!and yeah you right about the overuse of acids :-)

@@antoniosakrivopoulos3427 Using 5% glycolic acid every single day especially when combined with other acids (people like to slap on hundred different skincare products each day) has a cumulative effect as well. My policy is, if you have young, normal or sensitive skin, without acne you should be VERY wise with acids. Especially if you have sensitive skin. And less is more.

Physically blocking the sun is the most effective, much more effective than any sunscreen. Use a sun-blocking umbrella, or wear sun-blocking clothes and hat (such as coolibar). Also don’t overdo your skincare, keep it simple. My principle is never go over 3 layers of products.

@@Mrs_Chrome Blocking the sun 24hr is definitely unhealthy, what I was suggesting is to block the sun when the uv index is too high, like when you're going out at lunch time during summer, sunscreen is certainly not enough on its own.

Just drink as much as you need. Overhydration can damage your body's system. When you drink too much then started to pee a lot , it's mean you need to stop drink.

I recently started using an organic moisturizer that has PROBIOTICS and COLLAGEN in it. This helps to reset the environment on your face and add good bacteria to get rid of the bad. This along with Vitamin A and Zinc has significantly reduced my hormonal, cystic acne. Consistency is key.

Following on from consistency with exercise, consistency with your skin care routine! As a teenager I was at boarding school, and the school shop would rotate through products, so every few months I would have to switch between lotions/cleansers/toners etc. It always took like three weeks for my skin to adjust and calm down again, and I'm someone who's lucky to have not very sensitive skin. I also feel like breaking a sweat regularly (be it at the gym, in a sauna, etc) and then rinsing your face with cool water after has been really helpful, to me it feels like my body's way of just cleaning all those pores out

About the SPF. The SPF protection is always measure by 1 tea spoon. So when you put on sunscreen or foundation, to get SPF protection you need to apply 1 tea spoon of the product on your face.

You are correct about the SPF in makeup thing. You need a LOT of product to create the mono layer that will actually protect you from the sun. A good rule of thumb is to put a line of sunscreen from the middle knuckle of your index finger to the tip and put all of it on your face and ears. Do another line for your neck.

You're absolutely right about the spf thing. The amount of spf in makeup products is so minimal that a 30ml bottle of foundation would, in theory last just over 5 days in order to wear enough product to give adequate protection! That would get very expensive very fast, not to mention you would most likely look insane with that much product on your face 😂 The recommended amount of spf is one teaspoon (5ml) to cover the face, ears and neck.

I wrote a long ass comment somewhere but I want to point out the most important parts of my comment. The skin is influenced by hormones which is why children don’t have acne. To some, a new diet and skin care can change the skin but to some it doesn’t because hormonal acne exists (hi how are ya ). if the cure of acne was as easy as just cutting dairy and sugar, no one would struggle from acne I’m certain and all derms would go bankrupt. As you get older the skin gets better due to it producing less oil, less skin cell shedding etc. Female bodies go through a lot of changes in their early teens to mid 20s and actually all the time because PMS which is why we poor gals struggle with acne a lot longer while most men only have it during puberty. So if you’re a person who tried all these tips, products and diets but still struggles, it’s fine, I tried all these tips as well and still look like a mess. Consult a dermatologist and ask for a prescription. Try antibiotics first, if that doesn’t work go for accutane (very risky with a lot of horrible side effects be aware of those). It’s the only stuff that works for sure. The dairy, sugar debate isn’t really scientifically proven. Dairy and sugar rise the level of possible inflammations but don’t necessarily cause acne unless you are allergic to those nutritions.

This needs to be top comment! Most women's skin dramatically improves from teens to late 20s because of hormones. That's exactly what happened to mine, I didn't change diet, skincare, etc. These types of videos are so misleading to young women.

Man, I tried all the things for so long. Every product, every routine, exercise, dietary changes, all of it. I did not try using birth control (in fact, I chose a progesterone IUD, which can worsen acne, but I love it otherwise). But I did try a couple prescription topical medications. Everything would help some, especially in combination, but nothing could stop the acne. I have finally thrown in the towel at the age of 30 and started on Accutane. Finally my cystic acne seems to be stopping. Take care of your skin, everybody, but remember that sometimes, depending on your own genetics, you may need some professional help in the end.

I notice a big difference in my skin when I quit coffee. Like if I barely touched my skin it would get inflamed and red. And even tho even though I drink a gallon of water my skin looked dehydrated. When I would washed my hands they would get itchy and dry. After I purge myself of coffee my skin has a natural glow to it, it doesn’t get inflamed like it did, and it looks supple and hydrated. And I can wash my hands without them getting dry and itchy.

In the Middle East, people use this face mask that is honestly the ultimate acne fighter. Take some coriander leaves and grind them. Pour some honey on the little chunky paste that you should get after you grind the leaves. Use your fingers or a makeup brush to put it all over your face. Keep it for 20 minutes, and wash it off. Don't use a cleanser, just water is enough. Oh, and you can put a single coriander leaf on each of your pimples, they'll sort of shrink after you wash it all off.

I'm lucky enough to almost never get acne, pimples seldom come to a head on my face, but the number one thing I do to ensure my skin will be looking good well into later life - avoiding the sun. Tanning will age you!

the most effective things are: - daily hydration with organic moisturizers (maybe add some good oils) - sunscreen whenever the uv index is over 4 - oil cleansing instead of aggressive soapy cleansers (makes your skin less oily in the long run) - witch hazel toner against blackheads and breakouts - DIET! quit dairy and reduce simple carbs and PUFAs (so say no to highly processed food) - consume antioxidants as supplements or berries, green tea, ... - microneedling does wonders for acne scars - try serums with vitamin c, hyaloronic acid or salicylic acid and most important: don't stress about your skin, love and accept it and it will return the love ;)

I have acne prone skincare and I feel B g difference before and after using sunscreen and cleansing oil. Sunscreen help me from discoloration but cleansing oil really cleared my skin from comedo, blackheads, Whitehead and acne.

What did wonders fir my skin is not obsessing over skincare and just using a simple sensitive cleanser only once a day or so and moisturizer and nothing else. My skin has calmed down soo much after i did that. i also eat a lot cleaner and stopped drinking.

As a youth I tried all the harsh cleansers and scrubs trying to improve my skin, and when that inevitably failed I gave up and just did the bare minimum to wash and moisturize. Now I'm 27 and about 6 months ago I had the realization that soon I'd be worrying about acne and wrinkles at the same time, which sounded like a nightmare, so I started actually doing research about what's good for skin. I'm glad to see that what I've started practicing lines up with what's discussed here, because your skin looks amazing! I hope I can get to that point as well someday. Here's my current routine: Morning - cleanse with detergent-free, non-foaming cream cleanser and rinse off with a soft clean cloth to gently exfoliate; apply vitamin C serum; apply SPF 30 moisturizer --> vitamin C's antioxidant properties boost the effectiveness of sunscreen so they're great to pair in the morning :) Evening - cleanse with micellar water if I'm wearing makeup or sunscreen, then with mild sulfate-free foaming cleanser; apply either glycolic or salicylic acid (alternate back and forth daily) and let it sit for 30 minutes; apply snail goop essence; sometimes do a sheet mask; apply eye cream and moisturizer So far I've seen a reduction in acne and a bit of a smoother skin texture, but I've still got a ways to go. I think I need to find a better vitamin C product and maybe introduce a retinol product. And hopefully once I nail down a good diet and exercise routine I'll see some more change.

I stumbled upon this video because I wanted to know how to treat my skin better, and I realize that I am really messy about this topic: I never cared about my skin care, I never had acne but I have black points on my nose and pimples that pop out of my skin sometimes; I think I should do something about this because lately it's getting worse and the wounds, when I try to get rid of those pimples, don't go away anymore. Thank you for the tips, this is one of the many things I have to make right in my life, it'll be really useful 😉

Witch hazel is my saviour honestly. Thank you for being so honest❤️ Can you talk more about sex? I grew up thinking it would be “impure” to do it, and that i’m only supposed to do it with one person through my entire life. It’s a huge problem for me and I’d love to hear your take on it.

Axica hi, I know you asked for advice from Mel not just anyone but I’d like to tell you my opinion, I hope you don’t mind. I think that sex is a completely normal part of life and I think that as long as everyone involved is happy, safe and consenting you should do whatever is best for you. It’s a completely personal thing and there is nothing wrong with having lots of sex/lots of partners just like there’s nothing wrong with having none/very little/waiting. That being said what you chose to do regarding your sex life may change at different points in your life, it would be perfectly ok to have one desire/opinion at one point and then feel the complete opposite at another point. Also, I know it doesn’t help but it’s ok to be confused too but talking about it with whoever you feel comfortable with might help you figure it out.

I have a different perspective on this. I didn't wait for marriage and I wish I had. Why? Well one of the biggest things western society does is lie to people and tell them it is totally fine to sleep with people they could never parent with. We are taught from a young age that contraception is effective, and while it helps, every method has a failure rate. So if you sleep with someone with the knowledge that pregnancy would be a disaster then you could end up having to deal with abortion, adoption, or single parenthood. None of these are easy choices. Another issue is that sex bonds you to a person. You get blinded by the sex haze and can end up staying in crappy relationships because the sex has made you much more involved and less logical. Sex before marriage is not all it is cracked up to be. Just my opinion...

How old are you? Also, not Mel, but I figure when you have such thoughts, anyone helps. It's not "impure" at all. First of all: nothing you do, legally at least, is "filthy". I've had many thoughts of inferiority when all of my friends had boyfriends in highscool, and I didn't, which led me to also believe I'm ugly (confusingly, I'm told I'm actually very pretty). And it was awkward in college when colleagues talked about their sex life and I didn't know anything. I know how much it sucks to think something is wrong with you. There isn't. Not that many people find a partner for life on the first try. Though people who are serious about relationships, look for different partners than people who look just for sex. Question what sex means to you- is it just porn where two people(or more, I'm not judging anyone) want to experience pleasure, or is it an intimate connection between two people who want to please their partner? This is a value you have to place yourself. Not your friends, parents, internet, church, w/e. I am not saving myself for marriage, but I am saving myself for a serious relationship (I'm 26). It's also a good way to tell apart guys who are sweet talking their way into your pants and people genuinely serious about YOU. I've met a bit too many of the first kind, they seem genuinely interested, and they really care about you.... until you let them know the sex is not on the table for a while, which is when they start pressuring you into it. (huge deal-breaker to me.) I studied a bit too much to be just an eye-candy.

I think one of the most important things for someone on a "skin improvement journey" is to realise that skin is living and breathing and so sometimes, despite your best efforts, you will get some acne or redness or blackhead which is ok. I see a lot of people over treating their skin especially when they watch korean beauty videos and think the 12 step method is for everyone and you can do all 12 steps from day one. Then their skin cant handle it and it becomes worse. Also, changing up your routine every single day. The same skincare may seem boring and so many products are out there for you to try and indulge in but your skin can't handle so much constant change. Changing products is something you should do after a lot of research and make a routine and stick to it. Its important to listen to your skin and its needs.

I follow a simple skin care routine that works for me (30 yrs old sensitive combination oily with hormonal acne): AM - Cleanse with First Aid Beauty Pure Face Cleanser --> pat on Lineage Water Bank Essence Serum --> Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet --> Shiseido Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector SPF 40 PM - Same cleanser and serum routine --> First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Once or twice a week, I'll exfoliate with my Foreo and use First Aid Beauty Retinol Serum 0.25% Pure Concentrate I don't really wear make-up anymore, if I do, it's very simple. I take off eye makeup with micellar water (Garnier or Bioderma). I still get hormonal acne (1 or 2 spots). I use tea tree oil on them and DON'T TOUCH! That's was the hardest thing for me! Not poking at them! But need to leave it alone! The retinol serum has also helped a lot with hormonal acne and because it's a lower concentrate, it works on my sensitive skin.

@@migalo100 omg whey protein powder breaks me out so SO bad! Even still, at my age! I find any kind of low lactose dairy is fine, and any meat or fish, vegan protein powders, nut butters etc, so many options :) x

1: Drink water 2: Cleanse properly (Throw the wipes away, Double cleanse) 3: Learn which ingredient counter which problem you have (The Ordinary has best indgredient wise solutions, Try incorporating Vitamin A AKA retinol, retinoids) 4: Hydrate Hydrate Hydrate ( take barrier care seriously and above everything!) 5: Skin first Cosmetics second! 6: Use SPF! 7: Diet is SO important! Eat your protein, cut out processed sugars! ( this is an additional tip learn about how insulin and impacts acne and thank me later!) 8: consistent excessive 9: Stress management! 10: Supplements! ( Id recommend Zinc B5 and Vitamin A or Cod liver oil)

I am 28 years old and am having a very VERY similar journey with my skin. I most definitely have much better skin now than I did at 18. My whole teen years and early 20s were spent treating symptoms, but not cause. Once i started adjusting my lifestyle when i noticed skin triggers, i have finally started learning my skin's love language (as i like to call it). For me, i also frequently change my sheets/pillowcases, along with stay mindful of what type of hair products i am using (as during the day/sleeping i am sure they get a lot of contact) and have noticed huge difference there. I also treat my face with resurfacing masks, which has allowed me to remove over 60-70% (my estimate judging by my face) of my acne scaring. I love the herbivore blue tansy mask or the drunk elephant sukari babyfacial. I also allow local honey to sit on my face 20-30 minutes following, and with the natural antibacterial properties of honey along with hydration, allow my face to really heal following the mask Lastly, I'll relax with a sheet mask to really remoisturize. And of course, water :)

“Drink water” is seen as such a cliche but as you said, it has such a massive impact on our skin! I don’t suffer with acne, just some pimples here and there but if I’m drinking plenty of water my skin just looks so much better! Thank you for all these tips ❤️

If you take your cardio outdoors, I think you may notice a difference. I really think the fresh air in your lungs does something your appearance. Does for me. Get like a glow after my outdoor jog
