Bro, I’m losing my mind over here. That’s how Muslims in the US go to the mosque on Eid? I’m so frkn jealous right now. Because: I’m a Muslim living in Germany and lemme tell you, there’s no chance to see anyone coming to the mosque with traditional eid outfits. People might have bought a new pair of jeans, new button up shirt, some might even wear a suit, and you might see a wahhabi with a crusty, worn out jalaba and flip flops here and there, but DEFINITELY no traditional dresses or suits or whatever. The social pressure is just too high here. My shalwar, kurta, jubba, turban etc. are collecting dust (besides irregularly worn during prayer) in my closet and wait to be released. Awesome what you do over there. You really have to appreciate what you got.

Allah in Quran says: “O humanity! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another.“ And that’s why it’s stupid to call this “cultural appropriation”. Is it okay, that i use English to write this comment? Oh, maybe I should text in in my own language, when we have only 600k speakers and don’t have translator apps with my mother tongue. Is it okay, that I wear jeans? Because jeans were originally worn by American cowboys. Seriously? Palestinians wearing Moroccan clothes? Morocco is a country that not only has an Embassy of Israel buy they embrace it totally. While we Algerians have supported Palestine and Palestinians (we still do: free housing, scholarships...) And what for? For this?
