ISB President Dr. Jim Heath and colleagues from UCLA and PACT Pharma talk about exciting new cancer research. A team of scientists have shown that immune system receptors can be isolated from a cancer patient’s blood and used to redirect immune cells to recognize cancer using CRISPR gene editing. The incredible findings were published in the journal Nature and presented at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) 2022.

Hi I have gastric cancer. I haven't gone chemo yet. Would I be a good candidate for this treatment?

It’s too bad you cannot present this valuable information in a clear concise format. Scientists who hide behind technical jargon are BORING and, even worse, they obfuscate The message of hope and truth that they are attempting to promote! 😮😢👎

I like your desire to get better layman terms used for the general public forms, kudos to you... In my life it takes desire on our part to get the information we want... it sucks I know , but some things might get misunderstood during translation. I believe mankind is at the doorstep of greatness, is mankind ready for such greatness... fascist movement is all around us and fascism only is concerned about the haves compared to the have nots of the world... So the question persists " is mankind ready for greatness" ... I believe the right people will come together and release the greatness of DNA editing...

There are risks to every technology. Most people immediately think of fascism and eugenics, for good reason, but people who have suffered from a chronic illness for their whole lives are probably not. They just want to be well. Like me. @@magicray5088

CRISPR-Cas systems aren't exactly the easiest of concepts to put into layman's terms.
