@@hassanmars5250 Most likely Islam was first introduced into the Malay Peninsula (Malacca) by Malabari traders from the west coast of India (now part of state of Kerala). Malabari Muslims are the only Muslims in India which follow Shafie Mazhab. A lot of the Malabari traders also have Arabic blood (Yemenis most probably) due to the fact that Kochin back in the olden days (even now) was famous for its spice trading activities (some spices they brought from South East Asia eso Malacca). The Hadrami Arabs came much later by the mid 18th century.

Zheng He is not from western China. He is from Yunnan, like these guys. Yunnan isn't in central Asia. It is one province away from China's southeast coast, just beyond Guanxi (which is on the coast) and also next to Thailand and Vietnam. They are probably more closely related to Chinese Malaysians today (mostly from Fujian and Guangdong) than they are to anybody in western China. China today officially recognizes 55 minority groups. And of course, there are many more smaller groups not officially recognized as a minority group, because it isn't manageable to thousands of groups. So, if any group contains a large number of Muslims, the entire group is classified as Hui, including those who are not Muslims. This is why Hui today are found all over China. The widely geographically separated groups don't actually have anything to do with each other. They're just lumped together by government bureaucracy. The Hui in Yunnan today is very Chinese. Completely Sinicized except for their religion. They don't even have their own language. Islam in Malaysia is very Indo-Arabian. Shah is an Indo-Persian term. All the Sultans of Malacca were named something-Shah. Most Muslims in Yunnan are Hanafi. Malaysia is Shafi'i.
@tinateh
@tinateh 17 күн бұрын
@@danielch6662 they’re more Sinicised than some Malaysian Chinese. There was a major exhibition back in the 90s and the exhibitors were promoting the culture and products. They had a tough time explaining acupuncture to a family of Malaysian Chinese visitors, English speaking, likely urban, westernised and non-Chinese educated. The exhibitors still wore their ethnic costumes though.

@@danielch6662 hui is not originally chinesse ethnics by blood. some hui later maybe originally han convert to islam and they mix with the muslim come from western part of china then valed themself as hui. like this yusof ma and his family, i can see his and his family face feature look mostly like turkish peoples in uzbekistan. but his wife look like more han chinesse face. maybe they also have some han chinesse mix blood. but originally hui is not all han convert to muslim, they come from western part of china especially from ex soviet union muslim countries. so most original hui actually the descendent of turkish peoples. turkish peoples are from part of causasian land. hui and uighur are actually some muslim merchand or traders or soldiers from western china thats come to china when monggolian conquered muslim empire in baghdad during abbassid dinasty. so the monggolian in baghdad laterbaccept islam and they bring some muslim especially turkish poeples to mainland china to help them conquered china empire. so when the turkish peoples settle in china, they married with local people to spread islam. thats why hui and uighur are look different than han chinesse. the different is hui are more open to accept other chinesse ethnics but uighur literally more close to accept other ethnics. but nowaday some han convert to muslim also identify as hui because islam has become the main identity of hui. but most han convert to muslim still identify themself as han chinesse even they married with other muslim chinesse ethnics. but the fact is not all hui are muslims. just like uighur also not all are muslim. you need to know there are more than 10 chinesse ethnic identifies themselves as muslim as their main identity. not all of them are originally han and mixed with original han chinesse. correct me if i'm wrong. 😊

Zheng He has a fascinating history! He was close Zhu De, the third and the most powerful of Ming emperors. led an armada of over 600 ships he has travelled all over Asian and African coasts. Some even say he has been to the continental America as well. He fought pirates in the south East Asian seas and what I heard Indonesian Chinese even have a temple for him. He also fought war against Sri jeyavardhanapura king in Srilanka and took the king as captive back to China.

Islam was introduced to the Malay Peninsula coast by Arabs in 674 CE. Also Bersurat Terengganu; Jawi: باتو برسورت ترڠݢانو‎) is a granite stele[1] carrying Classical Malay inscription in Jawi script that was found in Terengganu, Malaysia.[2] The inscription, dated possibly to 702 AH (corresponds to 1303 CE), constituted the earliest evidence of Jawi writing in the Malay world of Southeast Asia, and was one of the oldest testimonies to the advent of Islam as a state religion in the region.[3] It contains the proclamation issued by a ruler of Terengganu known as Seri Paduka Tuan, urging his subjects to extend and uphold Islam and providing 10 basic Sharia laws for their guidance.[4]

@@brianwang8546 Prior to the Portuguese era, mostly the Chinese here are among the Han people from Fujian. They were the traders during the glorious era of the Melaka sultanate. After the British occupation, beside Fujians as the Chinese majority, people from Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan also came. To know more about the differences in the Chinese society of Malaysia due to the political and administration change in China, just do a little research and trace back on the history of China. After independence, after all the colonial era ended, now some are with MCA, some with DAP, some with Gerakan while at Borneo side, SUPP. Some prefer western Taiwan, some prefer China. Some rather immigrate to the western parts of the world. Some rather stay to keep their lineage intact. Some are more liberals while some are still conservative. Some don't mind the UiTM thingy, while some are very vocal about it. These differences in society are normal, because we are humans. It also happened within the Malay society, the Indians and other ethnicity as well. But, at the end of the day, we all are Malaysians and the differences among us, is the variable of colors and that's what makes Malaysia unique. ☺️

Based on the engraved stoned dated 10th century written in Jawi discovered in Trengganu , Islam most probably came to the peninsular in the 9th or 10 century . The engraved stone and its replica are exhibited at Trengganu State Museum

Nope. U need to do lots of research before u write about history. Bersurat Terengganu; Jawi: باتو برسورت ترڠݢانو‎) is a granite stele[1] carrying Classical Malay inscription in Jawi script that was found in Terengganu, Malaysia.[2] The inscription, dated possibly to 702 AH (corresponds to 1303 CE), constituted the earliest evidence of Jawi writing in the Malay world of Southeast Asia, and was one of the oldest testimonies to the advent of Islam as a state religion in the region.[3] It contains the proclamation issued by a ruler of Terengganu known as Seri Paduka Tuan, urging his subjects to extend and uphold Islam and provide 10 basic Sharia laws for their guidance.[4]

In malaysia you can see Local malaysian Malay,chinese and indian (peninsular malaysia) but malaysia also have A LOT of immigrant worker like bangladesh,indonesian, myanmar and more... maybe its hard for you differentiate between locals and immigrant worker but for us we can tell the difference.. every chinese here speak chinese everyday and stick to their culture sames goes to india.. but that also means theyre not really good at speaking in national language which is malay... but we can understand each other and i love the differences between each race that just show good this country can be.. except for politic and racial issues i dont think there would be a problem if we can solve that

Itu sebabnya pribumi semakin terpinggirkan tinggal di pinggiran. Yah nuansa China Tiongkok sangat kental disana bahkan bertanya dalam hati ini lagi dinegara negara China Tiongkok atau malasia .
