My great great great grandfather, Haji Abdul Jamal @ Ma Fa Kok, came to Perak circa 1870s as a merchant, settled here after married to my local Malay great great great grandmother. We were told that he was from Yunnan. Hopefully one day we can trace his origin in Yunnan and Allah give me the opportunity to visit Yunnan insya-Allah.

Kamu Tahu tak pak su mid Kedah yang meninggal Dunia pada penghujung tahun 2022 mempunyai isteri di Sana. Tarekat beliau sama dengan tarekat di Yunnan. Pak su mid sepanjang hidup beliau kerap ke Yunnan untuk mendalami ilmu tarekat, tak silap saya cucu cucu beliau ada di Yunnan sekarang ni. Pak su mid walaupun hidup bukan sebagai sekarang ustax tetapi ramai yang berjumpa dia untuk mendapat ilmu, dan beliau merapakan Salah seorang wali Allah yang diberi firasat untuk nasihat seseorang berdasarkan pandangan beliau kepada individu tersebut. Sekarang ni sudah tiada wali seperti dia.

I and my wife had been to Yunnan many time.At Kunming usually we stay at Upland Hostel YHA because it’s walking distance to Zeng Ye street… Shunghen and Nancheng Mosque… once we meet Abu Bakar young Ahong… he studies at my home town Alor Setar Kedah Malaysia… University Insaniah…. We visited many places in Yunnan…even do land trip to get back home to Malaysia using local land transport thru Mohan border crossing at Xinxuabanna district to Boten Loas.. For me the most beautiful place in Yunnan is at Tiger Leaping Gorge… Very big high mountain with deep river canyon.. we did 4 nights hiking there. Stay safe and stay happy

Went to Yunnan Province with motorcycle..Starting from Malaysia all the way up to Yunnan Province and riding back again to Malaysia..in the year 2018 and 2023.. took nearly 1 month for every riding trip...Mohan-Lijiang-Dali-Puer- ShangRi La - Yading - Big City Kunming...Theres a muslim stop-centre with big mosque "Masjid Yongning" in Kunming.. By the will of Allah (Insya-Allah), I will come visit Yunnan Province again..

MasyaAllah... I missed Kunming. About ten years ago I stay in this city for few months to work at Intl Flower Expo there. Surely those many muslim restaurants very helpful in making our stomach full... very delicious taste. I miss their food very much. I hope I can comeback someday InsyaAllah

No they are not ...the Chinese are not native ,they come mostly come via trading and as refugee during Turkic and mongol raid ... Indonesian are native

@@BackupMitra Based on history, you can't really tell, but based on genetics, you can see more clarity. Based on a survey of human genetic diversity among Asians, Indonesians are highly a combination of Austronesian and Austro-asiatic people, but not only that, we got some more genetic like Tai-kadai, Hmong-mien, Sino-Tibetan, even Altaic, etc. If you ask me, why do we look slightly different then? Because the genetic level matters and affects our appearance as well. The ethnicity in China that has an Astronesian or Austro-asiatic genetics is Han (which is the largest ethnic group in China), Hmong, Zhuang, Jino, Wa, Lawa, and many more.

So,, the legend is true. Admiral Zheng He who were travelling to Southeast Asia, set a stronghold in Java, especially in Semarang, Indonesia and part of Malaysia such as Melaka, he was really a Muslim because he was from Kunming, Yunnan. I heard based on the history, he was one of the pioneer that spreads Islam in Indonesia until becoming the largest muslim population in the world. I never knew Kunming was a very vibrant city with majority Muslims there.
