Islamic Scholar Sheikh Imran Hosein - What Non-Muslims Need to Know About Islam
Sheikh Imran Nazar Hosein is an Islamic scholar who specialises in contemporary interpretations of Islamic eschatology (a field of study in Islam concerning future events that would happen in the end times that is primarily based on sources from the Quran and Sunnah).
Sheikh Imran gave up his career as a diplomat in 1985 to dedicate his life to the mission of Islam, since then a tireless missionary who travels for years at a time in the cause of Islam, including in Malaysia, where he is occasionally based.
Sheikh Imran is also a commentator on international monetary economics, advocating for the establishment of free-markets and currency with intrinsic value as a means of savings and aversion of a pending collapse of the “world of paper money”.
(Many thanks to CITYPlus for their collaboration with The Do More Podcast, in whose studio this conversation was recorded. CITYPlus is Malaysia's first Chinese business radio station, dedicated to delivering in-depth analysis on local and international current affairs, markets, and businesses.)

This is the first of your videos i have watched. Well I haven’t watch it fully but I will later. Never in my wildest dreams would I expect a non-muslim Malaysian to even know sheikh Imran, let alone interview him. Even muslims wouldnt want to interview him. Kudos to you! Just some background, the sheikh is not mainstream in his views and is very controversial among the international muslim interlectuals. His views are too different from the mainstream and his methodology of coming up with his conclusion is unorthodox. Having said that, i do follow his talks on youtube and his views do make sense. I particularly like his opinion on the role of the different faiths in the end of times. But, his refferences arw a bit sus, so I take what he says with a grain of salt. His opinion on fiat money and the monetary system is spot on, but because he doesnt accept other solutions than by using hard gold and silver as currency, the quest for a soultion is a non starter.

Sir, Thank you for your comments and taking the time to write to me. While I was aware that he was not wholly accepted by the local mainstream, my research indicated that he seemed to come from a good place and deep thought, following many years of practice. Hence I reached out to him via a friend's contact. And to my surprise, he accepted. Many, including Sheikh Imran himself, has said that merely speaking with him on a public forum took courage, though I fail to see why. I have always felt that an open and balanced conversation is essential to a peaceful coexistence among all of us, for is it not with knowledge and information that we may better understand one another? If Sheikh Imran is willing to bravely and humbly speak out and preach peace and moderation even at the ripe old age of 81, then surely we must give him the space and time to do so, no? I am convinced that if possible, such conversations must continue, with the eternal litmus test, for all speakers, of honesty, intellectual credibility and nuance. Once again, thank you for taking the time to write. Much appreciated. Chuang.

Brother what do you disagree with him? How do you explain the strange world we live in today and the reality? Is ANY other modern scholars leading the way and explaining the realities of today? What is unorthodox of his method when the Quran states “explains ALL things” and that the Quran is absolute truth. It seems unorthodox to you because we have been brainwashed, we have placed the Hadith and scholars as higher status than the Quran. In surah Furqan, our prophet complains to Allah (swt) that “O my lord, people had taken this Quran as deserted”.

@@DoMoreTakeChargeofYourLife totally agree with you. What I hate the most is when people call other people names just because they dont agree with him/her. For me, Islamic eschatology is opinions base on personal research. You cant really prove it right or wtong untill it actually happens. So I just take it at face value. If there are other opinion I will do the same. I have heard too many predictions of geopolitical outcomes that did not happen to know you cant totally believe in only one opinion. But yeah most important is to get people united and not fight each other. Keep up the good work!

Just completed watching for the 2nd time, since it’s absolutely a joy to watch this very wise, extremely intelligent and learned, fearless in speaking the truth scholar. Since am a student of the Vedas, I can relate to his revelation of the end of time , the antagonist, finally the arrival of the Messiah after 2000 years. He did say that (to paraphrase) it does not matter whether we are Christians, a Hindu, a Muslim, a Confucian, a Taoist, a Jew, all of mankind will be affected by the event. I must agree. My gratitude to the great scholar for explaining in depth. Said it before, nevertheless saying it again, thanks to the host for this very insightful podcast.🙏🏽

I still have difficulty believing that recording and presenting a clip of this nature by a non-Muslim in Malaysia is even possible. Chuang must be lauded for having the courage to venture into this uncharted territory. Sheikh Imran Hussein is a thoroughbred well grounded Islamic scholar who is not at all afraid of calling a spade a spade. Only someone with spine can host someone like him and Chuang has proven he is so. People may differ with the view of the Sheikh but no one can afford not to give him a sober hearing in these chaotic age ! 😅

Wow... i never expected this interview. It’s been a looooong time since I followed Sh Imran, during the hay days of KZbin and conspiracy theories. Although I do delve in theories beyond theological or esotericism, but personally as a Muslim, I believe we are slightly too engrossed in upholding an institution rather than a belief to the way of life. MY, for example is a good example of these religious institutions, designed to integrate and assimilate with diverse cultures to sell, secure and rule.

There's a grand scheme by the west for world domination 2. The end of times are quite near (could it be in our lifetime?) 3. Muslims and christians are supposed to be "brothers" to steer the end of time consequences. 4. Muslims and Christians need to reflect each other and re learn their faiths. 5. Goverment is not an agent to integrate the society. This what I could grasp. Sorry la . Gua pun tak pandai. 😂

Islam means, with love in your heart, surrender and submit to the Will of Allah ( God) Within. All the World's Scriptures are from the same One & only God. The massive division among humankind is due to wrong interpretations of the scriptures committed by even the custodians of all religions. They put into practice their misinterpretations and the outcome is division among humankind for thousands of years, and is getting increasingly more severe today. Humbly, I suggest you get hold of the book titled, In Search of The Infinite." written by one who used a pseudonym, Athan East. It's available online. In case anyone is passionate about learning what true spirituality is, you may leave your email here and I will send the pdf file of the said book to you.

Hi Chuang. I think you are not as informed about Islam & its history so you did not ask more interesting questions, which is fine. We don't become pro in one day. However I do want to suggest to you some readings in case you are curious about why the Middle East is in such a chaos & the Muslim world as well. I think you can start by researching about Donmeh. Candace Owens recently covered a podcast about the Donmeh. It's on her channel episode 35. You can also research about the Saudi Royal family connections to these Donmeh and research about Wahabbism. There is also a book worth checking called "The Diary of a British Spy" by Mr Hampher. It is worth noting Chuang that not only the Muslim world has been corrupted. Even the Christian & Jewish religion has been corrupted. I mean the whole Zionist movement is a real thing.

Islam forbids expansion of territories and war is the very last way to choose as means to solve a dispute if peaceful ways couldn't be achieved. Muslims can only go to war when they are being attacked, or the oppressed is asking for help. Islam forbids killing of women, children, destroying places of worship, livestock and etc. Even if a war is taking place, destruction of places of worship is strictly prohibited.

Western Christians are the ones who occupied Africa, enslaved them, and exploited them as slaves, even though they were free in their country. The Arabs entered North Africa and they were peoples of the Copts and Berbers. Most of them converted to Islam because of the justice of the Arab Muslims, and they had a major role in the Arab-Islamic civilization.

Dear Sheik Imran, you said that while many Malaysians on the street would nod at you in deference to your age, Chinese Malaysians seemed to ignore you. Let me offer you an explanation. The way various races react reflects the government's divide and rule policy. It is my belief that the Malay ruling elite wants to keep Muslims and non-Muslims alienated from each other. This is their strategy for holding onto Muslim votes. Muslim religious leaders also play this role. As a result, non-Muslims, especially the Chinese, are wary about people who look like they might be religious leaders. So they just ignore them to be on the safe side.

@@felreizmeshinca7459 What I mean is that non-Malays know the ruling elite has all the power - so their general reaction is passive defiance. They will not openly confront them but in their heart of hearts they resent them. Because of this, many of them will just shut up and ignore Malay authority figures. Visitors to Malaysia who are unaware of the background may assume, like Sheik Imran apparently did, that their unresponsiveness to him is due to racism.

What the Sheikh mentioned earlier about multi religious communities is a very harmonious way of viewing the world and we need more people like this, especially here in Malaysia. However, im quite surprised no one in the comments seem to notice that what the Sheikh claims about the end of time, end of history, the future about Armageddon and etc, are quite unbelievable. Dont get me wrong, i respect one's believe in those things, but surely they cannot be taken as a fact. They are merely conspiracies or just stories that make a good movie. I think the podcast kind of taken on an unintended discussion about fiction towards the end, which is quite entertaining but not facts of life

As a Chinese Malaysian I have learnt nothing valuable in this interview about my fellow Malay brothers and sisters religion. This Sheikh is only talking about his own views and opinions (which by his own admission is heavily leaning towards partnership with Orthodox Russia Christians, against their common adversaries including his word "man who marry another man" i.e. targeted at the LGBT community). Nothing wrong with that, I am all for freedom of speech, and respect for diverse opinions and beliefs. But what has that got to do with Malaysia, the Malay community and the brand of Islam that is practice in Malaysia? Do I need to learn about one man's belief (which I find extremist and dangerous)? I thought this channel is more about Malaysia, I want to learn more about the brand of moderate Islam that is practiced generally in Malaysia, which should be a point of pride in the current world where extremism and terrorism rule.

Remember, according to Quran there are 2 kinds of non Muslims, 1. The Kufar = those who know that Quran and Islam is the truth and while knowing that it is the truth they hide it, acting as if it is false….such are bound to go to hell, for their lies! 2. Those who don’t know anything about Islam, they are not bound to go to hell or heaven, time will tell which way they will take, will they reject or will they conf8r, the truth, so these are not categorized as Kufar according to Quran!!!, and with them we can have a friendly dialogue. That is why Quran says, Indeed those who commit kufr, it’s is the same if you warn them or you don’t warn them, they will not believe. Quran beginning of chapter 2 So it is a waste of time, when you are warn8ng someone who already knows the truth and rejects it by hiding that which is inside, so they simply liers….a waste of time with them….and it is very hard to recognize them! The other non Muslims however are not impure!!!! It is strange most of the musl8ms today don’t even study the Quran…and they don’t even know this simple fact.

Muslims need to know about the former scriptures which are refered to so many times in Quran and they should interprete Quran in the light of the former scriptures. Then In Quran Allah mentions specifically,Torah, psalms and gospel. No mention of the books of the prophets. So there are key differences in doctrine about Who messiah is in tanakh and then in gospels What his mission was The sacrificial system Messiah comes to receive a kingdom and reign as king forever all peoples, nations to serve him .All the above appear to find no place in Quran hence in Islam. So we differ in those areas. Then I ask you to look at the Chinese sources about Jesus.
