Congrats on living y’all best life. I hope to soon get there one day… currently dealing with depression so your videos get me through each day

Hey man stay strong. Just know that you have a purpose in life, depression is a part of finding it. Discomfort is what’s needed in order to grow, in other words if it weren’t for the bad days the good days wouldn’t be so good. I can promise whatever it is that you’re going through that you can come out on top. Happiness is all based on outlook, persistence and positivity. Find what it is that makes you happy, go after it and never give up. We are always here for you my friend!

I loved the Dry Tortugas when I was there about 30 years ago. My high school took 20 of us to camp for 4 nights in the beach. The boat took us fishin' and I caught the biggest fish, a fat mutton snapper. Good times! The lobsters were huge, plentiful and protected unfortunately. It's a beautiful place with lots of fish and the fort is awesome.

I found it astonishing that two paramount aspects of Fort Jefferson were omitted from your story. The first being (actually the most import fact you left out) that in an estimated 40 years Fort Jefferson will be gone due entirely to climate change. The sea level will encroach on the forts foundation compromising the mortar and rendering the ramparts structurally unsound. Combined by the fact that the land surrounding the fort will disappear under the waves (view an aerial photo of the archipelago from 50 years ago and compare it with onee from google earth) So get out there while you can before it's placed off limits due simply to insurance and liability concerns. And the second no less interesting fact that was absent from your sstory. Fort Jefferson is where Doctor Samuel Mudd was imprisoned for over 3 year, the doctor who set John Wilkes Booths fractured fibula (broken leg). Hippocratic Oath aside one could make a strong argument that was a bad move!
@LifeByTheBow3 жыл бұрын
Great facts, but there’s tons of videos on KZbin that describe exactly what you just mentioned. Our goal in this video was to show an experience/tell our story. Not repeat what everyone else has done.

I’m looking at getting a 30 ft scarab with twin 250 mercs and was wondering how the water was and if that size boat would be ideal for taking to the dry tortugas.. I would probably just trailer the boat down to key west and then drive it to the tortugas. How much fuel did you fill up and how much did you consume ? My main concern is getting out there and not having enough fuel to return. The scarab has a 200 gallon tank
