I build boats for a living. 25 plus years. Hydra sports and mastercraft. That is a really nice boat.

It might be worse than you think. I'm not sure if your Narcissistic Sport Fishing is about who caught the biggest Fish, or who's got the biggest Boat? Of course I can understand about Great white Sharks. They have been known to jump into boats even as big as yours. Now a Megalodon could easily sink a boat, you might stand a better chance. A boat like yours could go long distance as compared to the usual sport fishing boats. As long as you can afford the Gas, and I suppose you could. Here are a few notes to take along with you the next time you go out. If a shark bites your fish in half, I suggest that you throw the other half back into the sea. Think about what sharks eat, including dead carcasses. The other half of your fish is probably contaminated in some way with possibly deadly bacteria. I know some people eat sharks. That is probably not a good idea either. In the near future, plastic lures, and lead sinkers are probably going to be banned. Just think about how much of that is already littering the bottom of the ocean. It's a toxic waste dump ready to teeter off the margins of our edible resources. Just by touching a lead sinker already has reduced your immune system with heavy metal toxicity. Each time incrementally ads to the next. Not to mention what it does to our environment. I'm not sure what the radiation from Fukushima has done to our oceans, but I'm sure it's not good. Where I live, testing for radiation along the entire west coast has found that near San Francisco Bay has the highest level of detectable radiation. Most likely due to the barrels of radioactive waste dumped off near the Farallon Islands. Imagine that? Dumping radioactive waste near the most pristine fishing grounds along the west coast. That is only what we have been told is out there. Who knows what they haven't told us, or illegal dumping has occurred. Mining for gold and other elements send heavy metals downstream. They eventually end up in the ocean. Here in the Bay Area we have mercury toxicity, in the ocean, in the fishes, and probably in the mud and silt in the bay, constantly being washed out into the ocean. We are really teetering at the margin of edible resources in our waters. Where at one time hundreds of years in our past, could have had fish in our diet every day. But now we should be leery of just once a week.
