Islander 28 BOAT TOUR-We switched boats again!

Try to keep up as we bounce around from boat to boat! Hey life is all about trying things until they fit! We sold our Catalina 34 after only having her for a year. We felt she was too much boat for the size of the lake we are sailing on. So we downsized to a boat that still checked all the boxes! Heater, stove, easy to work on and sail. We really only cruise for a few days at a time, so until we decide to move to the cost and find a livaboard, this is our new boat! Islander 28, Hope you enjoy. We owned a 1977 I28 for 17-18 years sailed out of Dana Point, CA. Mostly going to Catalina, Channel Islands, San Diego and LA and Long Beach harbors sometimes as long as 14 days. Your newer model has much more amenities, than ours did but the previous owner of our boat had installed a Yanmar GM20 just before selling to us. I believe your 28 is the only cleaner I28 than mine! Enjoy your adventures.

@@thelostcompass I do not, but my friend and sailing mentor has an Islander 36, so I’ve spent a lot of time sailing and cruising on that…incredible sailboats!

I have a 76 model with the original Volvo md6a. These are very capable in all weather conditions. I have a canvas full enclosure that makes the boat usable April-November on Lake Superior

Nooo we barely saw the C34 in action! But totally understand your reasoning. The Islander looks to be clean and in great condition especially the canvas. Great video quality of the tour too. Looking forward to seeing some sailing videos of the Islander in action!
