Isle of Dogs London - Blackwall Basin - Canary Wharf

Took a walk around the Isle of Dogs London, walked around Millwall Outer Dock through Crossharbour and South Quays till we ended up shooting an old image with a very new skyline at The Blackwall Basin. Canary Wharf has changed in the eight years since i took my first image here.

Thanks Daniel , i have enjoyed my couple of trips uptown and the photography, this time of year is perfect for it as sunset is reasonably early meaning you can still travel home at a reasonable time , glad you liked it . Thanks mate.

Really nice vlog. Very enjoyable change of pace from the more typical sunrise in the Peaks/Lakes District vlogs. The night and water reflections view you chose is excellent! 👍

Thanks mate, its only because i could not live any further away from the Lake district if i tried i am in Thanet , pretty much as far south and east as you can go without getting wet :-)

Hi Darren , its a lovely location to shoot Canary Wharf skyline from and it really has changed in the eight years, but as you say the city lights really make the image come alive, cheers mate!

Great video Lee! Very relaxed vlog. No e to ride the train up as a passenger, eh? And always nice to get out with a friend and fellow photographer. Yeah that skyline has changed dramatically since my last visit there. I actually prefer your new photos to the one on your last visit. So clean and crisp, fantastic long exposures! I didn't find them unbalanced at all but the in-person experience from ground level might be a whole lot different. Either way, crackin' images and a great video! You are making me want to get out and photograph Miami. 😂

Thanks Paul, i bet you have some fantastic interesting architecture out there, i for one would like to see that ! London is always evolving there is always a building site somewhere , but i do love the London skyline with its mix of old and new , the image i took 8 years ago will now never be able to be recreated , but i am glad you like the new images , i thought they looked better, must have learned one or two things along the way. Hi James , it was your comment that made me start looking at the area and when a friend asked about getting out , your comment sprung to mind, I did mean to mention it in the video but completely forgot, so , thanks for the recommendation ! Weather was not the best but got one or two images I was happy with that area around the Blackwall basin has certainly changed since my last visit. Thanks again take care mate

Good trip around Lee, it's been years since I've been down there - at least 15 years.....it has definitely changed since I was last there. Question about your tripod if you don't mind. I've just got a Winston 2.0 and can't find any short stem centre columns for it. Noticing yours there, did you get it with the short stem, buy separately from 3LT, or did you get a third party one?

Hi mate, thanks London really has changed , since yesterday probably ! I have actually just removed the centre column all together as i very rarely have the need to use one but i do get the tripod low . So cant really help other than im sure the Winston 2.0 is capable of taking it out all together . If i see anything ill be sure to let you know though mate.

@@LeePelling cheers Lee - I’ve not had too much of a play around with it yet so will give that a try. Funnily enough the reason why I’ve ended up with this tripod is a knock on from not being able to use the capture clip you sent me the details for with the manfrotto mounts - should be able to get one of those now. @@LetsClickPhotography wow that capture clip has cost you a fortune then , you could of just swapped the manfrotto rc2 plate for an arca swiss , did this on another tripod of mine , but new tripod always nice and I do like 3lt as a company .
