It's so nice to see two people so completely in sync with each other. Yourself Ken, and Charlie Girl seem to interweave with each other so we'll, it warms the heart. Your coverage of the island is so lovely to witness, my mum would have loved to watch your travels around a place she held so dear to her heart. Your vlogs continue to get better and better. I do hope you come back to Ireland one day and can experience the midlands of the country in more detail, it really is so beautiful. Looking forward to your next installment.

Fun Fact! Milner's Tower was built in recognition of William Milner who was a local engineer and designer. He was a bit of a cool dude and a hero. The tower itself is in the shape of the barrel of a lock standing on end. (He designed and manufactured safes.)

It's so lovely to see these video's of the Isle of man. I was born there and grew up mainly in Peel, though I've lived pretty much all over the Island. I left the Island when I was 37 and moved to the Netherlands though I go back as often as I can, my kids and grand-kids are there. Sadly due to covid I haven't been able to get there since 2019. I'm hoping to get back over there shortly but have to go to Orkney first to see my elderly parents. I spent many hours on the beach in Peel, swimming, climbing on the rocks and where you spent the night was once a wonderful outdoor swimming pool where I learned to swim. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the videos from your trip, they are so well presented and you are showing so much of the Island in such a positive way.

Glad you are enjoying the videos Calli Anne and we can do the island justice. What a lovely place to grow up. We have been watching some videos of the Isle of Man when people used to flock there in huge numbers for their summer holidays. The outdoor swimming pools looked glorious.

Another really good vlog, but then it’s like home after living in Port Erin for 13 years. The building you parked by is the Marine Biological Station, previously run by Liverpool University. Plans have been put forward for the re use of the station but seem to have come to nothing. On a good day the Royal Manx Show is a good visit, the place that is the show ground was an internment camp during ww2 and is the sight of the Islands experimental farm. The run from Dalby, your overnight stop to Port Erin is known to us as the Sloc, the round table being at the junction of your right turn to Port Erin. The road straight ahead leads to electric hill, ask any Manxy they will explain.

Hi, Rene from the Netherlands. I am a fan of the Nissan NV 200 and that is how I ended up on your wonderful channel. Unfortunately, the NV 200 can no longer be registered as a motorhome in the Netherlands because it is too small (customs). The Castletown, Port St. Mary and Port Erin area is my favourite part of the island. There used to be a cafe on the beach in Port Erin - had lunch there in the past. Have also walked up to Milner's Tower (although it was never open when I was there). Hopefully you took a ride on the steam railway as it is a brilliant way to travel from Port Erin to Douglas, and you can stop off in Castletown along the way.
@LifeistooshortCK3 жыл бұрын
We enjoyed the whole island to be honest. We never got to ride the train as when the weather was nice we did the outdoors and when it was wet the train was not running. 👍
@craigavonvideo3 жыл бұрын
@@LifeistooshortCK That's a shame as the steam railway is a definate highlight of the IOM. Also, are the horse trams still running in Douglas? It was a great way to have a leisurely journey along the prom (and you would have gotten a lot of good tracking shots in the process).
@LifeistooshortCK3 жыл бұрын
@@craigavonvideo we will have to do the train the next time. We didn’t see any horse trams whilst we were there. The island was pretty quiet with much fewer tourists than normal which was probably why attractions were not operating every day. The Isle Of Man never fails to amaze me with abundance of natural sites with great and awesome views. They made ideal park ups too. Just one thing Ken, is there any particular reason why you prefer to use the mineral water bottles instead of a bigger water bottle like a 5-litre one. Moreover, the mineral water bottles are not food grade while you could get those in bigger ones right?

10:57 to 11:48 - Great to have the steam railway being featured. A ride is definitely recommended, if ever you end up on Manx land again... Nice serial of your Manx travels so far; keep them coming!

Would love to have ridden the steam train but the schedule and weather did not coincide. Plenty more videos to come 🙂

Another lovely video. I'm slowly catching up on all the earlier episodes. On a side note Ken, the Manx notes are not recognised in the UK as they have not been approved by the UK Parliament.

As always another great video. Could you tell us what that dark round disk is on your Big Breakfast? It’s the 2nd time we’ve seen it and we are curious as to what it is. Thanks! JC & Red

Black pudding. It’s an acquired taste. It’s main ingredient is pigs blood and spices and it’s often offered over here 👍

I think the same person who designed roads in England did Ireland as well. Lol.
