Just finished the 3 part series on photography for beginners and having never looked at the settings on a camera before and just taken photos i now actually feel like i understand how photography works. Obviously i still know very little but the way you teach really resonated with me and the way i learn!!

Watched the 3 videos Iso,Shutter Speed and Aperture and thought the way you explained them was nice and simple, I bought the basic Canon EOS 1300 just to get started to start taking pics of my 80+ Tarantulas that I will be filming in low light / close proximity. Any suggestions besides obviously get a better camera:)
@Jackson-mp7di5 жыл бұрын
With 80 tarantulas what you’ll want to do is get a jerry can full of napalm but petrol can work but is not as effective. Next purchase a lighter from your nearest convenience store. Finally soak all tarantulas in napalm/petrol throw the lighter and get a picture of yourself walking out of the burning house.

I’m a beginning photographer and honestly, you have the best videos I have come across so far. You explain things so they are very easy to understand and your personality makes it very entertaining to watch and learn. If you could do some more videos talking about all the different features of the Sony a6000 camera, that would be amazing. I just subsribed to your channel!

Beginner amateur photography here. Though I’m subscribed and watch a lot of other great photographers and photography reviewers, gear reviewers, impressive landscape photographers, your one of the rare few that’s great at photography, film photography but more impressive in being able to teach what seems complicated in a easy fun way to us all with proper demo to explain it all as show and learn. As a new subscriber and having checked out your website it’s one the reason I’ve also decided to take your Landscape Photography and Lightroom Editing course. Your a great teacher and that helps us who are new to photography immensely to learn.

I just watched the first two of the series, and am now on this one. I have an old Canon Powershot sx40, like 10 years old, point and shoot. I want to learn how to photograph birds and beautiful scenes when I hike, and I know that my phone has a better camera in it than the Canon! It's point and shoot, but I know that I can get some amazing images with it if I just learn how to use it right. I love how you explain things. I tried a few years ago to learn and got frustrated. You make it understandable! I think I'm taking my camera out tomorrow! Thank you!

the defenition of ISO you gave is actually for all kinds of standards! It's used in f.e. mechanics, where bolts are named ISO 4762, which is a uniform way of identifying certain parts. It's just a simple example, but it goes way beyond bolts and nuts. Every standard has it's abreviation, like JIS for Japanese industrial standard, or DIN or EN or AISI etc. Hope this was helpful :)

@nexus1g3 жыл бұрын
He's right about what ISO means. This is one of the ISO's standards (12232:2019). This one is specifically for the, and I quote, "method for assigning and reporting ISO speed ratings, ISO speed latitude ratings, standard output sensitivity values, and recommended exposure index values, for digital still cameras. It is applicable to both monochrome and colour digital still cameras." Basically, you can pick up any camera, and the ISO number you choose represents a specific outcome in exposure. This ensures that various manufacturers of digital cameras don't each have its own interpretation of what light sensitivity means. 34 people upvoted and three replies. That's rough.
