Yes, you can also throw grenades and blow up the mines too. It really makes those sections easier. They also make them in a grid pattern I think, so think of a series of equidistant points based off of mines you have blown up, almost like a big version of minesweeper.

25:00 Actually, here's an interesting fact! Humans, when pulled up by barnacles, can in fact be saved, so long as the barnacle is killed before it Gibs them. This also explains why it isn't an instant kill for the player, despite the only unarmored part of their body being digested. However, your statement is accurate to HL2, where NPC's do actually die on contact (most likely due to Valve needing them to ragdoll. Thank you, Marphy Black!). So there you go.

On that section with the "Ninja assassins" (Just before you get ambushed and dropped in the waste disposal), I've found that the easiest way to deal with the hyperactive little A holes is to go in the room on the left, put trip bombs on both doors, and hide behind a crate. Every time an assassin trips a mine, pop back up and replace it. I think there are either 4 or 5 of them running about in there, but you can easily get them all if you've got the full quota of the mines.

19:34 You get the revolver right after Blast Pit, what are you talking about?
@soursugar48673 жыл бұрын
20:16 so fun fact: sometimes when the trigger breaks like that, it’s not that the gate doesn’t open, it’s that for some reason the door was open when you first got there and actually shut when you unblocked the generator

The Vorts don't attack you at the Interloper??? What game have I been playing? :D Also, the Gonarch battle can be broken in all 3 of its stage-changing-triggers, it's sad. Really nice video overall!! Enjoyed it.

12:31 This happens because a _lot_ of old things that worked as intended in WON Half-Life were broken in the transition to Steam Half-Life, I could make a list but we'd be here for a bit. Thankfully none of it affects gameplay but it really is a shame how much stuff is botched.

The hitscanning soldiers were the best part of the game. This was before Call of Duty, and military action shooters didn't exist before this. There was no other game where you could jump and run around realistic environments fighting grenade-chucking soldiers with an MP5. Hell, the fact that you were fighting US Marines was kinda groundbreaking and controversal, this was long before Spec Ops the Line.
@nmpltleopardi4 жыл бұрын
Well maybe not jumping and running but you could play the og Rainbow Six in 1998. I know I did. It had mp5's alright! 😉☺

Trav, you don't first get the revolver in Power Up, you get it in Blast Pit. Directly about that water section in the tentacle pit, there's a dead Barney with a revolver and an ammo box for it. Also, it's not that the bounce pads don't work, it's that you have to jump over them to get the boost properly. The game isn't being bad, you are.

Dude on the mines sections you could just use a nade or spray with your smg to detonate the mines; there is nothing in half life that forces you to play by sheer savescum brute force.
