Timur khan himself is a from a Turkic nomad tribe from Uzbekistan. So yeah he is Turkic but he also claimed being a relative of Genghis Khan ofc this claim has no back up but its main objective was to give him legitimacy which it did.

Anatolian Turks came from Turkmenistan for sure, but they were there before 1000, with Seljcuks first they came to Iran then Anatoila in 1071 but ofcouse some of them dont left thier land and after some time (like 400 year) they fight with Timurs side and Timur was speaking their language. You could read his letter if you want.
