@@samphillips8188 A million things slow the game down. The AI trying to design a new division template every 2 months and make a brand new army is no doubt a large part of it.

@@samphillips8188 Just the AI in general slows the game down insanely. If you really doubt me, just go into the console while playing the game in the 1940's and enter the command "ai", which turns the AI off. You'll notice just how exceptionally fast the game will run if the AI didn't exist. The AI takes up a sizeable portion of the game's processing power because they're making snap decisions every single tick (every in-game hour), taking into consideration all the factors that go into their current situation and trying to figure out what actions would serve them best.

I literally showed it to someone outside of the HOI4 community and he asked "isn't it just like clash of clans but in WW2?" (Or something along the lines of that). There's a reason the base game is still 40 dollars.

I love how with the new system and the amount of people just making puppets within the same faction, you can end up with some insane occupations. In my USA game, I ended up with something like 4-5 puppeted Germanies WITHIN THEIR IRL CURRENT DAY BORDERS!!! Meanwhile my puppeted Soviet Union was called "American Russia"... Not to be confused with my other similarly named puppets: American Germany and American Italy. I do wonder whether American-Italians would accuse me of erasure for creating American Italy who I can only assume would be referred to as American-Italians too.

I don't find it weird the M1 Thompson comes after the Garand at all actually because the M1 model specifically was when they redesigned it in the 40s, changing the internals to a direct blowback mechanism, removing the ability to load the 50 round drums, and other standization efforts.
