@@BLACKINDIANSI literally just picked up the "t.akustik Vocal Head Booth" all the way from Germany. It is the same concept as the ISOVOX but is less than half the price ($350 ish plus $152 shipping = $500 ish depending on your tax situation). It's all one piece (so not as modular as ISOVOX) but is relatively light weight. It does the job fine.

I used the ISOVOX to record my last single and it ended up on TV (recorded in a room with wooden floors, no acoustic treatment, and a fan that wouldn't shut off). I think it's a great solution if you're in a space where you can't treat a room (i.e. an apartment). It gets boomy though so be prepared to mix accordingly!

@@demoni96 I won't lie I have a sterling st6050 ocean way edition mic and I have to eq out the low mids because it's a 47 style mic and it has that big low mid bump but once I do that it sounds amazing but I used a Ashton mic and absolutely hated it in the isovox. I'm about to get the Tlm 103 now and see how that goes

I bought it last year, been using it ever since, especially during the pandemic, it's A M A Z I N G, and saved soooo much money in renting out studios for recording! Think about the long term investment, i know it's pricy, but where i'm from a studio is 50 Euros an hour, and you know recording takes time especially if you're a picky singer (like myself lol) i think i repaid it just in this last year.

@@viplivesmatter i used a Rode NT1-a. So i’ll be real honest, if totally closed on all sides, you do tend to get a little of boxiness on your mids. but nothing that a good EQ notch can’t fix. The pros on the other side are no reverberation or room noise whatsoever.

The Isovox is definitely a great solution, I saw another video a few months back, it was definitely more expensive than I thought it would be when I priced it, I could build a booth for what it cost, lol but the fact that its portable is great, having said that, the mic in the room was suprisingly not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I was expecting a lot more ambience in the playing than it was. Also the video I saw before the person had a really small monitor in the booth and she was able to record her own vocals.

I bought the IsoVox 2 on sale on Ebay for $800. You have to eq the boxiness out using a preamp ( I have the Avalon vt737sp and the Golden Age Project 73 pre with matching EQ) and my WA87, SM7b and Avantone CV-12. I might have to look into this microphone from them

The only issue I can see is where do you put your copy? There's another portable booth like this one called the VOMO, but I think it's around £500 once VAT and postage is added but it has the advantage of being larger than this one and there's somewhere to put your copy and your laptop.

Bro. I sent this back to zZounds almost a year ago. The price is definitely crazy. I see that the mic will cost more the the booth. $999 should get you the mic, booth, and a stand. Since I returned the isovox I am left with a heavy duty stand with nothing to use it for. Another con that this is not easily up and down adjustable. It’s a workout every time using the isovox. It definitely work though.
