I'm so happy for Dricus I can't even explain it. I'm from Eastern Africa, and I know what he said about being the first African to reside & train in Africa to become champion or whatever. I know how hard it is to make a living to train in some parts of Africa because it's hard to live daily sometimes let alone live there sacrificing a better life for your loved ones that they can have in better developed countries. If I was still in Africa, I believe I had a good chance of dying there.... So.... I took it as heavy disrespect to indigenous Africans but hey! Idk its 50/50 DDP can wrestle Izzy and might have better success in that area....those takedowns gain points more than striking at times. Control time and grappling can be an issue

Israel also has 80" reach which Du Plessis will have to get past and he doesn't appear to have the footwork to close the distance quick enough to allow him then shoot the takedown. He'll have to set them up constantly if he is to have any success with that.

He also had incredibly strong takedown defence and is bigger than any other opponent Chimaev has faced. Let's also not forget the gap in striking pedigree. As for Du Plessis, yes I agree. He would be a difficult fight for Chimaev, especially in the wrestling and grappling exchanges.
