How the proposed Kulachal port will affect the Vizhinjam port? So on one side there is Kerala which wants to shrug off the non-investment friendly tag by executing the project and on the other side Tamil Nadu which has proven track record of Industry friendly policies. So by obvious choice it has bagged 25000 crore for Colachel , four times higher than Vizhinjam which would be a big hurdle for the already much delayed Vizhinjam project. Vizhinjam has got a head-start in the race, but who finishes it depends on the interest shown by the respective State Governments.
