Israel-Hamas War: Piers Morgan And Douglas Murray vs Pro-Palestinians Over Hamas Attacks

Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by journalist and author Douglas Murray, Canadian-Palestinian Doctor Dr Izzeldin Abuelaish and co-founder of the Muslim Debate Initiative Abdullah Al Andalusi to react to Piers' controversial interview with Islamic extremist and NHS doctor Abdul Wahid on yesterday's episode after he refused to call Hamas' attack on October 7th a terrorist attack.
Piers begins by asking what Izzeldin thought of Abdul's interview yesterday, and whether he feels comfortable having an NHS worker who supports terrorism. Izzeldin explains that Jihad is used when talking about fighting against evil, not always within the context of terrorism which is the popularly Westernised definition of the word.
Piers asks Abdullah whether he thinks the October 7th attack was a terrorist act. Abdullah explains that by Piers' definition of terrorism (the mass killing of innocent civilians) it would be - but points out the same should apply to rthe IDF's killing of innocent Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Douglas contests this, explaining that it is not calculated attacks on civilians unlike Hamas' and that Israel is trying to target the terrorist organisation.

People die in war, and one side is killed more than the other, but just because one side has more death (which Hamas wants and praises) does not make Israel wrong, it its just means they are self defending. Hamas hide all the men underground and make sure they are safe, and leave their women and children to take the rockets, then when their women and children are dead take photos and load it up on to the internet. I have seen some of the best acting out side of Gaza hospitals, men dressed in women's Islamic clothing, they get out of the ambulances (you can see they are men by their hands and the way they walk) cameras are ready to see the ambulance arrive, and young men (none with scratches or even bruised) running with dead children or injured children on stretchers...its one big Act 1 scene 2 for Hamas and the so called Palestinian innocent people who support and want the death. I laugh at idiots in my country calling for human rights in Gaza, HAMAS and Islam do not support human rights...yet fantasy idiots in the West are being played, mean while muslims that live in our country and hate it, and never had any intention of respecting Western values are leading these marches...Islam will not win, because Evil loses in the end

The deaths are awful, and God bless the victims. However, those numbers, in a state of war, are actually measly. Civilians do die, especially in missile attacks, but they’re not the target. It is clear that the large majority of the IDF (not all, of course), are not ordered to intentionally kill civilians. If they were, you’d not have merely 20,000- you’d be looking at hundreds of thousands of civilian deaths. Especially in a country as densely populated. Compare that with Hamas, who do purposely target civilians in order to push their political aims, and you’ll notice that the ratio of civilian deaths in relationship to time, number of operations, number of soldiers etc drastically increases.

That guy brought up an interesting example, he compared the bombing of dresden in WW2 with the Oct 7th attacks. Both were attacks that intentionally targeted civilians, and resulted in non-combatant deaths. My answer to that would be that the vast majority of countries and/or militaries are guilty of some sort of organized war crime at some point in history, the My Lai massacre by the US in Vietnam is a good example. The leaders who ordered these attacks should be jailed for life at a minimum. Something to keep in mind is that war is ugly and worse than hell and sometimes you don't know the difference between combatant and noncombatant, and someone's status can change in a split second. The important distinction is that the Oct 7th attack was done during a relative time of peace. Not as part of a battle in a large scale war. Hamas might think otherwise, but the truth is that the IDF wasn't ordering any attacks on Gaza or the west bank in the immediate time before Oct 7th.

One thing I’ll say is the amazing thing about being in the health field is different people you work with and have to collaborate with to give care. The doctor has worked with Israeli doctors and saved lives in both sides. These are the kinds of collabs we need in all fields. Our work and jobs matter. How we work together for each other. We aren’t all doctors, we don’t get to work with and learn to work with others we don’t agree with- certainty not to the same degree. But we do tend to stick with what’s familiar- so when we get a chance to work with someone different than us, we should try. I’ll always be sorry for your loss, Doctor. Conversations like this matter.. but working together more regularly can breach all kinds of barriers. Ones we can’t really articulate that easily with debate.
