7:38 Those tunnels (sarcastically dubbed "the Gaza Metro") is where Hamas members and their families take shelter during Israeli airstrikes while the civilian population is left to fend for themselves. Civilians are not allowed into the tunnels, unless they bribe Hamas. I wonder if this is also where some of the foreign hostages are being kept.

Yep that's the reason why Isreal should not bombarded the civilians if it want to destroy Hamas there is only one way the ground offensive. These bombings are doing no harm to Hamas instead they are earning sympathy from all around the world. In first place Isreal has already lost the war they should accept it they are just doing political damage control now, if the problem is not identified then the solution won't work. and the only possible solution is a 2 state solution or eles these people will keep rising generations after generations the cause won't die and also the top leadership they can easily hire more and more recruits as they all might have lost loved ones and they'll seek vengeance and that's a perfect breeding ground for extremism (and yep they are humans too and its human nature to be free and not caged no matter how hard you try their will to be free wont die). We need a leader like grobachev to save this world but democracy has its limitations popular opinions and public opinions won't let this issue settle peacefully.

It's absolutely positive that that's where they're keeping those hostages. They want them alive as long as possible. And if anybody's going to kill hostages they want to make sure that it's them that do it otherwise they lose their value. And I just have a really hard time feeling sorry for even then on Hamas supporting Palestinians in the Gaza Strip when they've been given repeated opportunities to change the circumstances. And I understand that Hamas won't let them leave their buildings and such at times. But I mean if it means you're going to sit there and get bombed then you do what you got to do and if you die in the process at least you didn't guy sitting there doing nothing. I mean this is such a horrible tragedy but it cannot be blamed on anybody and I mean anybody other than Hamas. I seriously have not heard one single argument that carries any kind of weight that tries to blame anybody other than Hamas

I always laugh at people calling some channel "unbiased" when they agree with them. The fact that he calls this Hamas massacre similar to the Russian massacre in Bucha already greatly shows where he stands. Never was any proof of Russia being behind Bucha or that it even existed at all since Ukrainian authorities refused to grant permission for an independent investigation. Also the fact that he talks about Hamas killing everyone and Israel trying to fight Hamas is pure bullshit. They hate Palestinians, proof is they kill them also in the West Bank where there is no Hamas, and have been doing it for decades.

This invasion, although more severe and far more plentiful will be a version of what the IDF did in 2008 during Operation Cast Lead. Cutting the strip in half between North and South and cutting the strip at the Wadi Gaza, roughly in the middle. As large as the IDF is, they are still a RESERVE-based national army and so, will need to conserve and keep forces in reserve.. So .....they cannot take on the entire Gaza Strip in one large movement. The invasion will cut the strip, and move first into Gaza City before moving south to Khan Younis, the place and the camp where Hamas was born in 1988. Regardless, Hamas and IslamicJihad are far more organized, well armed and centrally commanded than they were in 2008/2009. They have more RPG's, anti-tank mines, more trained sniper teams and more complex IED units trained both in Iran and in central and southern Lebanon with Hezbollah. This will be a long, drawn out and painful war with a painful Israeli victory nonetheless.

You also have to account that Israel's 360,000 force will most likely be possibly 70,000-80,000 combat troops with the rest in the rear elements ie medical, arty, logistics etc and so the fighting in Gaza won't be easy as Hamas' military wing Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades are roughly estimated to have 40,000 combatants divided between the Brigades. I can see Israel also being pressured internationally depending on how brutal they are with the attack mainly civilian casualties and the Humantarian crisis worsening giving Israels blockade on aid atm. I also can see more reports of war crimes and human rights violations being perpetrated by both sides worsening the support both sides have atm too and Israel in 2006 against Hezbollah I don't think either side could claim victory in the almost 2 month long war and the possibility of that happening again.

NATO expansion in Scandinavia, the political crisis in Belarus, Fighting in Ukraine, developing conflict in Bosnia and Serbia-Kosovo, Russian occupation of Transnistria in Moldova and Abkhazia and South Ossetia in Georgia. Fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan's role in Iran. Iran's conflict with the Taliban, influence over Iraq, sponsoring of Hezbollah, Hamas, and Houthis. The conflict in the Horn of Africa - Somalia, Ethiopian Civil War, conflict over the Nile, Sudanese Civil War, Libyan Civil War. Conflict across the Sahel and France's influence in West Africa. The Pakistan-India Conflict and the role China plays in that. Fighting over the future of Myanmar. The South China Sea situation. The expansion of US alliances into SE asia and the Pacific as well as the expansion of China into these same regions. the East China Sea, Taiwan, Japan, North Korea, South Korea. Finally an even handed evaluation of the issue! Ive had to block NPR, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC; this is a breath of fresh air, thankyou. Operation Cast Lead had 1500 Hamas casualties compared to just 6 on Israels side; by the same ratio Israel should be able to kill the 30,000 Hamas army with the loss of only 120 Israelis. That 120 is a HEAVY loss, but necessary to prevent another 1600 Israeli civilian deaths in the future. Hamas doesn't have any air support; Israel just advances until contact is made, then they use overwhelming air and artillery weapons to eliminate the threat.

If Hezbollah is supported by Iran. Wouldn't hezbollah have massive quantities of shahid type drones. Enough to overwealm the iron dome and threaten Israeli air bases and US aircraft carriers. There have been over 1,000 used in Ukraine. Has the IDF or US Navy considered this? I'm very concerned that the extent of Hezbollah drone capability has not been considered. As soon as Israel invades I question if Hezbollah will begin an assault demonstrating a new paradigm that quantity and cost and overwhelm quality and precision.

I don't want to run defense for the IDF, but the destruction of mariupol was on a completely different scale (for now...). Both in terms of death toll and percentage of destroyed buildings. Mariupol had 440k inhabitants and 90% of the city's residential building were heavily damaged or destroyed. We don't know the exact number of civilian casualties, but even the most conservative estimates are magnitudes higher than anything we've seen in gaza yet.

This is going to be a bloodbath, on both sides. This time i believe the costs are too high. The attack by Hamas this time around is different. The level of sophistication, equipment and planning is beyond their capabilities. That only points to one factor, Iran. The recent normalization of ties between Iran and Saudi has eased up a lot of proxy conflicts in the region, especially in Syria, Yemen, Iraq etc. This has enabled Iran to focus back on Israel. I guess the Quds force is back in action against Israel. This was an attack to bait in Israeli army so that they will get bogged down in the urban warfare tactics, something where Iran excels at. Iran can also open up a new front in the north by the way of Hezbollah, only time will tell what Iran has in store for this event. Anyway deaths in hundreds of 1000s are certain.
