Went to 6 or 7 of his concerts amazing and when he passed I went to his funeral at our state capital in honolulu and at the spreading of his ashes at Makua Beach I swam in the water for 4 hours around the hokule'a a double hauled sailing canoe were his ashes was thrown out into the ocean from on top of it and what was weird some of the ashes got in my eyes I washed it out and after it was done everyone swam back to shore and alot of the flowers that was cast into the ocean followed me to shore like a stream of flowers it was the most spiritual feeling I ever had and still had since like we shared a connection that day somehow and everytime I hear his songs it makes me cry a feeling of pain, honor and courage and just proud that he was our Hawaiian superman always will love him and his ohana RIP my lovely man

I ran across Israel's music quite by accident. Now I can't help but listen to his music on a daily basis. What I also appreciate is the love he had for his people and it was returned. Yes, it is a terrible loss but we still have these video's to remember a man not only with a great talent but a voice that projected such a great love for his people.

Wow, what an incredible voice! There was an angelic voice also in the beautiful music of a blind Australian Aboriginie - he passed also. These brothers never met i dont think but my gord, i wish they had. Such gifts straight from the Father, unadulterated, no need for 'auto-tune' like all the rock n roll, pop singers in the world.. This is the real way music should be: The King just told us: "doing the least amount of work & having the most fun" - yayy, i dig that!

I was in Hawaii in 2019 and heard a musician playing Israel's song, "Hawaii 78." Listening to the words and melody touched my soul. I remembered that song's main lyrics and melody for 4 years, until my current visit (June 2023), when I learned the name of the song and then looked Israel up. I've been listening to his other songs now as well. I just love his music! You can feel his soul in his art, which is a rare thing... he truly loved his people and land. So nice to have these recordings available... his legacy lives on. Thank you IZ!

The day we left our beautiful man always gave the world something without any they could ever, ever pay. Uncontional love. Some do not know what it is. Love brudda iz. When we moved to Hawaii when I was a child, they were holding his funeral service outside Honolulu, and they were carrying his ashes out in a boat to spread them over the ocean my dad told me - and there was just an infinite line of cars and traffic who came to honor the life of Brudda Iz. He has always been a blessing in my life and i love this man’s soul, and music. I can’t wait to meet him in heaven one day thanks to JESUS
