Israel makes record land seizures in occupied West Bank | DW News

The displacement of dozens of Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank is raising concerns, with violent attacks by Israeli settlers at an all-time high, according to the UN and human rights groups.
Since the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7th, Israel has reclassified 1,100 hectares in the West Bank as Israeli state land - with hundreds of acres designated as state-owned property in the last three months alone.
DW spoke to Israeli government spokeswoman Tal Heinrich about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his administration's actions in the occupied West Bank and what Israel's current policies there mean for the future and safety of Palestinians.

Far from a marginal anything. The vast majority of Israelis support the settlements in the West Bank. Not long ago there were also settlements in Gaza. The Israelis only pulled out of Gaza because it is mostly a barren strip of land where little to nothing grows. They settled in the West Bank because it has more arable land are natural resources. The settlements in the West Bank were not just chosen randomly, they are on the best lands most often.
