@@falconheavy595 Israel was always Israel. In 135 AD Roman Emperor Hadrian got tired of the Jews of Israel rebelling against the empire so he renamed Israel Palestina. Which is the Latin term for the Greek word Philistia. The Philistines were Greeks who settled in what is modern day Gaza around 1200 BC. They left within a hundred years because the land dried up and became desert. Some went back to Greece and others moved to Israel, converted to Judaism and melded into the fold. So, from the beginning Israel was full of Jews. From 135 AD on Israel was called Palestine by anyone who did not like Jews, and was called Israel by everyone else, including the Muslims. The Arabic Muslims called it Israel as well as their holy book the Quran states: Surya 5:20-21 Allah told Moses he is giving the Holy Land of Israel to the Jews. This debunks the whole "stolen land" myth. After WW1 when the British obtained(took from the Ottoman Turks) the middle eastern countries as colonies they decided to release each colony after they built infrastructure as they were all 3rd world. They offered Israel to Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon, and none of those countries wanted that land and all stated the land belonged to the Jews. The Brits had to list Israel(which they still called Palestine) as an offshoot of Jordan and called it the Trans-Jordan Mandate. In the mid 1930's Hitler sent emissaries to the middle east to start militias to attack British interests in the region if war broke out in Europe.(see he was planning ahead) In order to get people to want to attack Israel the emissaries told the Muslims people(99% of whom were illiterate) that Jewish bankers controlled Britain and ordered them to take over the middle east. All of the Arabic countries and colonies supported the Nazis of Europe. In Iraq they formed their own Nazi party and even took over the government by force in 1943 and had to be deposed by a large British force. Pre 1948 Israel had a population that was over 90% Jewish. Pre 1948 the Muslim countries removed the 3,000 or so transient or nomadic Arabs who traveled through Israel to get from one Arab nation to another. These people were put in camps in the desert in Jordan, Syria, and Egypt. When their numbers swelled and the cost to feed them was too great the Arabic countries would kill a bunch off. They did not like these people and considered them Gypsies. It wasn't until the 1960's that the Arab League decided to re-name these Nomadic Syrians, Jordanians, Egyptians, Arabians, and Lebanese people as Palestinians. There are even news interviews from the 1960's with these people stating they are angry because their own people are re-naming and disowning them. The leaders of the Arab League stated at the UN that they created this straw man to always have a reason for their citizens to hate the Jews and show support whenever they decide to attack Israel.

It was not a "stupid" idea, but an unfortunate one, to try to create a safe and peaceful home in the middle of what was certain to be a hornets' nest. While Jewish history has deep roots in that area, Jews were only around 7% of the population, before WW2. Forcibly displacing so many Palestinians was never right. Short of finding a different piece of real estate to call home, a much greater effort at peaceful coexistence would have been the only moral way to go about it. Muslims and Jews historically DID live together for long periods of time. The nature of Israel's creation did much to destroy that possibility It is usually a self-justifying excuse to claim that an enemy is so unreasonable that violence and force are the only way.

But as was pointed out, he was actually not taking sides, he was against religion, Islam being the presently most succesful, being his main target of criticism, but he criticized the others relentlessly as well. He fought against religion, not against the people of those religions. And he did not play favorites. He criticized Islamic countries, just as much as European countries or Israel. But I do not agree with his reading of history of religion at all and for many claims and decisions, I do dislike him, however, he had integrity and honor. He was not a sell-out. I would consider his ideas that of a bitter but brilliant opponent and not an enemy.
