You actually can jump over the ghost without spring shoes, shotgun, etc (normal jump). The ghost will slightly move up and down as they are heading toward you (on the same horizontal plane), and you can just barely jump over the ghost when they are on their lowest point of the slight upward/downward movement.

The story pretty much went like this, I saw a good computer in a store, and it was used. I bought it (I’m using said computer right now) And it had a copy of spelunky downloaded. I booted up the game, and looked to see what characters were unlocked, and there was gimpy! Neat, huh? Oh, and thanks for the heart.

Israel Blargh why isn’t the crystal skull from the dead are restless level mentioned? It spawns a ghost early, (you can have two ghosts if you do it right) and is worth double that of a typical jungle idol. If you get a dead are restless+old bitey’s cove level, you can get two crystal skulls, one from old Bitey and one from the typical structure, spawning three ghosts.

pro tip: use the robot or hired help to smuggle the plasma cannon in to 4-2 and the city of gold or use a tag along second player bonus points if you sacrifice them and revive them every level.

Israel Blargh Understandable, and I don't think it's good for the 101 videos to be forced. I just played classic Spelunky for the first time last night. I had no idea you had classic Spelunky videos so I'm going through all of those. If you were up for it, I'd enjoy seeing you pick that up again to complete a City of Gold run, or work on unlocking the 4 secret rooms. The requirements for those don't seem too terrible

I'd only attack shopkeepers if A. They have a REALLY good item I can't afford B. I'm trying to get a new high score C. They have a gift box I can't afford and I'm doing an eggplant run. Also, if you don't kill the first few shopkeepers, you could get a Hired Hand to carry the Plasma Cannon to the City Of Gold. I know you said your employees can carry it but it's WAY easier to buy a hired hand instead of fighting for one.

Just a note, it's actually possible to jump over the ghost with a normal jump if you do it at the right moment :) It's scary and should not be done unless it's the last resource. The monkey actually gives more money in early zones, in the ice caves you may result even or have a loss and from the temple and onwards it's always a loss, so the monkey is pretty much only worth in the mines and the jungle, unless the jungle idol is a crystal skull. You should join the MossRanking Discord server :D

Yes, it poops exactly 31 times, and what he poops is random so it's not always the same, but it's always above the idol's value in the mines and the jungle, in the ice caves you can either win or loss and in temple and hell is always a loss.

Not sure if someone else posted this but if you kill a shop keeper on a dark level he wont chase after you later.

Naw bud, it don't work that way, wish it did! From the wiki: Shopkeeper forgiveness works differently than in the Classic version of Spelunky. Killing a shopkeeper can make it impossible to be forgiven for the rest of the run (depending on the method used), but every second stage after committing the original crime is an opportunity to earn forgiveness. Reduction of the player's wanted status is achieved if you manage to exit the level without a shopkeeper noticing you (including being noticed from off-screen), which will eventually result in being cleared of the Spelunker's wanted status, depending on the severity of the player's crimes against the shopkeepers.

The first time I played splunky I was always afraid of the gosth, HOW DO YOU SPELL THAT? My friends we're all afraid of it too, we we're playing together. One time the goust were being stoped by our goust but, we knew we were screwed. She, yes a one was a girl. Was trapped in a chunky area. We also thought that the altar things we're ment to be blown up, we were young though. I learned more by your videos a couple years later and 1 year later here I am now.

Awesome video Israel. There's nothing better than destroying your enemies for some monetary gain while slurping blood off the floor for nourishment while you see a female ghost following you. Playing Spelunky is the next best thing though. Also thanks for the in-game text file! I always wanted to ask you where I can find it, the messages are very funny. Also the Casino is actually in your favor and as long as you have the proper capital to cover the first couple rounds you can actually get an infinite amount of money from it. If you're able to ghost the Black Market you're set.

So I finally beat the game. Like, actually beat it. Went through Hell, killed Yama, and went through the door to finally receive my achievement and new character. No sooner did I enter the door than the game suddenly crashed. I restarted the game. No achievement. No character. This game has done me wrong one too many times.

Well she tries to move straight, but yeah. She actually moves straight horizontally (not up and down stuff) if you don't move at all once she spawns, she'll come straight to you, and I think she does move straight down but I can't remember right now.

It's funny, I've got all the Spelunky achievements except the gold one. I keep being way too ambitious with Ghosting. Think it's best to start at level 1-3 or 1-4 when you're a little more geared up, apart from the vault.
