Jesus had to be crucified outside the city wall to fulfill prophecy. Jesus was the perfect lamb of God John 1:29. He did not come to do away with the law Mat 5:17. And in keeping with the scriptures, the law required that the Passover lamb to be slaughtered outside the city walls Deut 16:5-6. Now a popular tourist attraction, the Garden Tomb is indeed in a garden, as was the tomb of Jesus. It is currently outside the walls of Jerusalem, and Jesus’ death and burial took place outside the city walls (Hebrews 13:12).

Ron was absolutely right. The name "Golgotha" is a contraction of the name "Goliath of Gath". it is the place where led by the spirit David took the head of Goliath that he had cut off after defeating him, as well as his armor and his sword. He placed all this in a cave located below a hill which was therefore called the place of the skull (of Golgotha) Ron was able to find the cave which he was able to see through a narrow tunnel he had bravely slipped through. He could clearly see the sword of Goliath, but also the ark of the covenant which had been hidden in this same cave.

I've never been to Israel, but God's Holy spirit pulled strongly in my heart that the garden tomb near the skull face is the place where Jesus was laid. There is just something about the place just gives me such peace.

im more convinced with the garden tomb 1. as the scripture says the tombs wasn't actually meant for Jesus but for his follower joseph so it means the tomb could've been very very old before he was even born and was actually design to be a tomb from the beginning 2. the scripture also described the golgotha as a place with a rock that resembles a skull which fits perfectly to it's entrance and is absent in that demonic idolatry supelcre whatsoever 3. it is outside the wall and is not too far off a gate which was stated in the scripture so for me the garden tomb is way way more accurate and basing it to early worshippers who likely doesn't even know it themselves and was mostly catholic that just prays to anything regardless if it's a paint rock or what doesn't make sense

Great overview. I support the garden tomb as the burial site because: 1. it is near a cricifixion site where there uncovered 3 stone covers over 3 crucifixion posts 2. there is a stone and groove for the stone to be rolled in front of the tomb 3. there is a hole with remains of a metal bar that "locked" the rolling stone in place. That bar was sealed in place with molten lead, dating to the time of Jesus 4. this tomb is easily within walking distance from the ancient city walls. 5. Its near the place of the skull 6. Its near a major road, allowing people to see it 7. It is within walking distance from Herods palace and Pilate's place of judgment, Gethsemane and the places in Jerusalem associated with the life & death and resurrection of Jesus.

@@ssu7653 While there's a great deal of historical suggestion regarding the Church of the Holy Sepulcher as the place of both death and resurrection of Jesus, one could argue that it too is only an ancient guess. From 70AD until the time of Helena, Christians and Jews were kick-out of the area for hundreds of years. Oral tradition would have been lost without the presence of generational living by those who believed in the importance and significance of Christ. I say this, because other traditional locations of biblical sites located by Helena have been disproved or are highly debated. I don't have a strong opinion at this time about either site. I've been to both, and I enjoy learning as much as possible about both locations.

I did visit both places: in the holy sepulcher church, I felt I was in a place of idol worship, whereas in the Garden Tomb, I felt the Holy Spirit move me to tears of joy: this was the place; without a doubt!

There is much more to say about the garden tomb, e.g. a broken iron nail was found in the wall, right where the stone that had been rolled in front of the entrance was sealed. This piece of iron can still be seen today. In the garden - near the tomb - a cistern was found that dates back to the time of Jesus and beyond. Added to this are the archaeological finds that Ron Wyatt found in the tunnel system between the garden tomb and the rock of Golgotha. This tunnel connects to Hezekiah's tunnel system, which is across the street and extends below Calvary. This place corresponds much more closely to the biblical text than the traditional place most people go to today. But it is also good that the place is not overrun, otherwise the garden would be destroyed. I am convinced that God planned it this way to keep this holy place. Oh and one more thing: the garden can be traced back to the time of Jesus.

Having been at both sites several times, I agree with your comment that one should visit both to gain a more complete understanding of the historical Jesus’s crucification and burial.

This video did not mention two things I saw at the very crowded Church of the Holy Sepulchre in February, 2020. The first was right outside the Aedicule, the little building shown in the video under the great dome, which covers the tomb site found by St. Helena. It looked like a holy water or baptismal font made of marble, with what seemed to be a round loaf of bread with a cross on it (also marble). It was not until I got back home that an online search identified it as the "Omphalos" (Navel of the World). In the Dark Ages, most Christian maps placed Jerusalem at the center of the world, and that cross was literally the "X" marking the spot. I also visited a side chapel that belonged to one of the Orthodox sects that shares control of the church. In one of the walls is a cleft that leads to a rock tomb (smaller that the Garden Tomb). That sect believes it to be the actual tomb of Jesus, so there are two candidates within a single building.

The Garden Tomb was carved in the Iron Age, about 600 years before Jesus was born. The Garden, cistern and wine press all date from the crusades. There is a ZERO percent chance it is the site Jesus was crucified.

So I'm not sure where the true tomb is, but at any rate it is empty for He Has Risen!! And at the Holy Sepulcher, I do not feel at peace there. I cannot put my finger on it, but something just feels wrong/dark. However, at the Garden Tomb, whether it is the true place or not, I truly feel at peace there.

Garden tomb, nearby Golgotha. The sign nailed to the cross had to be readable to those walking by, so the Crucifixion was by Golgotha by the road, that’s where Roman’s did them so all would see. Up top on the hill, there was no road…33/And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,…it didn’t say on the hill above Golgotha.

You're uniting and balancing the masculine and feminine aspects of your mind (the cross) and if beautifully exemplified in symbol by the two thieves.. one accepted him (feminine) over rejected him (masculine) with Jesus being between the two.. again it's s mental process so to answer the original question with another question.. where is the mind located? Golgotha or "the place of the skull" where you'll find your mind.

Very nicely put together. When I went there some years ago, I went with a Catholic group, so we never went to the garden tomb. Well, who knows. But it’s all right and I just appreciate being there where Jesus lived walked and died and rose. Thank you very much. The witness in the Scriptures of the Gospels is correct and pinpoints the place of the tomb. As you were saying concerning the Angel of God sitting on the right side of the tomb, it lines up with the Scripture. Years ago, Ron Wyatt said that he was directed by God to go through a cave that goes under Golgotha and there God showed him where the Ark of the Covenant is located, which he took a picture of and it does show golden angels. Ron said that when King Yeshua was crucified, His Precious Blood flowed down from the Cross onto the Mercy Seat of the Ark through a crack in the rocks that went from the top of Golgotha to the bottom where the cave is. Ron seemed very sincere and was weeping while sharing this, I believe that he was telling the truth and that would also pinpoint the Garden Tomb as being the true tomb. There is also a Cross symbol inside the Garden Tomb put there in ancient days by Christians because it was the site of a Holy pilgrimage because the people were told that the Garden tomb was the place of the Lord's body burial and of His Resurrection. I've also heard it told that the Church of the Holy Sepulcher has many layers where one building has been built one over another, over the centuries and I heard that this is where Romans would take the dead bodies of the crucified and stack their bodies up in a heap in a mass grave, that doesn't line up with Scripture where Joseph of Arimathea bought a personal tomb and with them putting the Lord's Body in Joseph's personal tomb. As a minister of Yeshua, what I do know for 100 percent is that God is always right and man is not. We see a Tomb and we think of death, God seen the Tomb and thought of Life and His Son being in hell taking the keys of death, hell and the grave away from satan and then of His Son rising from hell and being resurrected. Every where we see a negative, God sees a positive and we know this because The Spirit Of God bears witness that God is Good and He said, as it is written in Truth," I Am The Resurrection And The Life" and "With God All Things Are Possible" and we could go on and on with these Truths in Scripture. The one true tomb we all personally know, is our bodies, that once contained a dead spirit and soul and we were dead, but then Christ entered into us by God's Holy Spirit and now we are resurrected with Christ and now our bodies are the Temple of God. I will remember this truth that The Holy Spirit just shared with us when I visit the Garden Tomb this year. The crucifixion is an allegory just like every Bible story.. You're uniting and balancing the masculine and feminine aspects of your mind (the cross) and if beautifully exemplified in symbol by the two thieves.. one accepted him (feminine) over rejected him (masculine) with Jesus being between the two.. again it's s mental process so to answer the original question with another question.. where is the mind located? Golgotha or "the place of the skull" where you'll find your mind.

Why is the the gospels written as a historical narrative? You can claim they're allegory but that's a misrepresentation. Furthermore there is so much archeological evidence to back up the narrative. Take the ashen ruins of Sodom and Gomorrah. Are they covered in allegorical sulfer balls?

There is also a third site and it's on mount of olives. From what i have learn't Golgotha means golaith skull and it was mount of olives that Golgotha's sword was kept. I have also heard over the years that it was on mount of olives that Jesus was crucified. Mount of olives plays an important role all through scripture

According to early church fathers, the location was called “The Place of the Skull” due to the shape of the hill that apparently reminded people of a human skull.

A third hypothesis is that the place of the skull refers to King David's palace on the Mount of Olives, where Goliath's skull was kept. The Lord ascended into heaven on the Mount of Olives, and He will return to the same place to establish His Kingdom.

My Jewish friend shared his insights on this debate and I want to share them with you. “I think that the group of believer’s that support the garden tomb site think it’s so due to the following reasons. 1. The garden tomb looks more like a garden so it must be the site. 2. People who hate Catholics want to distance themselves from anything and everything Catholic. And due to the fact that the first Christian groups control the original site maintained though the status quo agreement. Therefore, the protesting believers have no control over the site so they developed an alternative site due to their protesting nature and out of their need to have control. 3. Tradition is not a valid experience due to the lack of written evidence. 4. So called idols appear in the real place of the tomb and are shunned because their tradition of faith says that a crucifix is an idol. These confused brethren think that Catholics pray to idols which is proven false and is mentioned in the rules of the Catholic faith. Side note, it’s interesting that the Catholics have written rules and expectations where as protesting believers rely on word of mouth and tradition in expressing standards.” ……thus I think my friend makes some interesting points.

Thank you for this vital to all detailed and honest information. This information about what has already started happening in history reminds me of something that was foretold in the bible passages Acts 2:17 and Joel 2:28. In order for that prophesy to take place in maximum benefit to all of humanity we must all encourage one another and young people to not allow anyone to disrespect them only because they are young. Being young while going through adversity should never be the only evidence being considered that someone has become too dysfunctional to make a healthy adjustment to life without them being coerced into taking medication with risks for the rest of their lives. Otherwise then human civilization can only depend on old mortal men's dreams. Old men (and old women) some of whom are prideful while they are dreaming to become in effect only dictators for a time that they will be finding out the hard way which can be only for a season.

A third hypothesis is that the place of the skull refers to King David's palace on the Mount of Olives, where Goliath's skull was kept. The Lord ascended into heaven on the Mount of Olives, and He will return to the same place to establish His Kingdom.

went to both last month ! I met a Peruvian priest there. he believes the correct location is The Garden Tomb. I'm not exactly sure what my heart feels just yet. the Garden Tomb is further outside of the old city of Jerusalem , while Church of the Holy Sepulchre is much closer. Constantine's mother built that church I believe and a Muslim family has opened it's doors for thousands of years. this video is awesome. thanks so much !!

When archaeologists studied the Garden Tomb, they dated it to the Byzantine era around the 7th or 8th century, which makes it too young. But even though the Garden Tomb is not the burial place of Jesus, it is a good example of what the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea might have looked like.

There's also a crypt bellow the Holy Sepulture Basilica, where supposedly St. Elena found the Holy Cross. From the point of view of the Christian tradition, she was guided by the Holy Spirit in her endeavour. Then of course, it all depends on your beliefs. The archaeological insight you bring in is most interesting.

At minute 2:06 there is a picture of the crucifixion at Mount of Olives, outside the city walls, near the typical location for the Red Heifer sacrifice, facing the front of the temple, providing angle to witness the tearing of the temple curtains. I think Martin had it right about Golgotha. What is ironic is he later writes "The Temples Jerusalem Forgot" and moves the temple mount to the City of David which makes no sense. Why he did this I do not know. I haven't read The Temples Jerusalem Forgot and don't understand why he would contradict The Secrets of Golgotha and abandon his belief of the temple mount being in the traditional location. His 2nd book destroys Olives as being the crucifixion site. No one ever mentions this when speaking of Martin. But we can't say Martin was right about both places because the temple isn't in two places and it just doesn't work. Frustrating.

Thanks for your message! I understand the frustration, there are a lot of contradictions around and sometimes you find authors you agree here and others you disagree there. The witnessing of the curtain tearing up is a powerful indicator in my opinion for the crucifixion location. Temple location-wise being in the City of David area doesn't match with geography. Let's keep investigating and learning!

@@nathanspodium I thought the same thing. But this guy as awesome as his videos are really doesn't like Martin because of the misconceptions his other books have created. So, I could understand why he wouldn't want to give Martin any credibility. Just want to throw this out there though: I heard the source of the Gihon Spring is in Mt. Scopus. So this whole argument that the temple must be closer to Gihon goes away if the ancient source was closer to Scopus and the temple mount. What if they could access the water from Scopus in ancient times? You really have to consider that Joshua told the Hivites (which were of Gibeon) that they would be the WATER drawers for the temple. Where would THEY be drawing water from? This makes me wonder if we have the right location for Gibeon and the GREAT POOL that was said to be there. What if the pool was the source of Gihon and Gibeon was in Scopus? Just a few thoughts I've been rolling around. I know that the Bible maps in the back of the books might show otherwise, but I'm still asking the questions because after reading and studying the land some locations just don't add up to what the Word is indicating. I've just recently learned there is an active dig for a northern location of Sodom when all the Bible maps tell you it's SOUTH of the Dead Sea! We have to start asking more questions and use critical thinking if we are ever going to know where these places really were. Sorry for the rant...just passionate about finding the truth!

Note: "The garden had a cistern". - The Garden Tomb area has a huge underground cistern.

That Cistern dates from the time of the Crusades. The Garden Tomb was carved in the Iron Age, about 600 years before Jesus was born. Why do people like you comment on something when you have ZERO idea what you are talking about. I will also point out that in Luke and John it SPECIFICALLY mentions that when they went to the tomb, Mary had to STOOP DOWN to look in the tomb. Again, that eliminates the Garden tomb as the site.

@@CRAZYHORSE19682003 You are a Big Twerp. I never stated that the Garden Tomb was the tomb of Yeshua. I don't believe that the Garden Tomb is the correct tomb, but that the tomb had to be in that area known as the place of the skull, or Gordon's Calvery. Big Twerps like you need to be educated to read properly. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is without any doubt the wrong place. On Josephus' map, it is too far south and too far west. Josephus indicated the crucifixion site north of the Damascus Gate, where Gordon's Calvery is. This is the same place where Ron Wyatt excavated and found proof of the crucifixion site.

@@bestKaffir.underTheSon I will also point out that on the grounds of the Church Of The Holy Sepulcher there are MULTIPLE first century Jewish Tombs, which PROVES that Jews were burying their dead at the site in Jesus time. They also found evidence of agricultural activity dating to the first century on the grounds, showing that there was a garden there from the time of Jesus. NONE of that has been found in or around Gordon's Calvary, everything there dates to the 1,200's. The Garden Tomb and the surrounding area are the literal definition of a tourist trap.

Most scholars/theologians give credence to Golgotha (Skull Hill) being the place of our Lords crucifixion.✝️ It’s likely that Joseph of Arimathea who the “garden tomb” belonged to, purchased the “garden tomb” for his own use, prior to Christ.
