Hi Flying tools! Your property is stunning just so you know! Those little V's on the blades are actually leading edge tubercles! Of course when it comes to microturbines the benefits are much smaller, but you'll see essentially the same thing on commercial turbines, as well as serrations on the trailing edges, and they all increase lift and decrease drag. It's a really incredible addition to airfoil manufacturing and a lot of it comes from how whale flippers have developed! As much as I absolutely LOVE iSta Breeze's turbines I do hate that little ceramic molex block and it did fail on mine. My Heli still has the one it came with, though, and it's still going strong despite being abused a little...but I do kind of wish I had replaced it before standing the tower up.

Thank you so much for you comment and thanks for that information, I really love to learn new things😃 This wind turbine stuff is all new to me and people like you really help us out!

When you mount this turbine on the tower it would be a good idea to put some lock tite on the two bolts that attach the turbine to the tower along with lock washers. Those bolts will work their way out and you could end up with some damage to the turbine in high winds. I unfortunately found out the hard way.

Hi and thank you very much for your info. Sad to hear about your wind turbine. I already have lock tight on my screws and my top end of the mast are machine to fit perfectly. H7 fitting😉 I also made a slot in it and then mounted muffler clamp so it’s tight and secured.

Thanks for the video. I think the wire connections could have been stronger. What I do is wrap 22 ga copper wire around the two wires to hold them together before soldering. This way you have a mechanical and solder connection that is much more secure.

Hi, yes it will definitely be a stronger connection, but I don’t think that it is necessary. But ho knows. Thanks anyway:-)

great video but it looks like in 2023 these are no longer available on AMAZON

Thanks. 😃 That’s sad. I bought mine on eBay but maybe they are out of stock there too.

Hey, nice video. Thanks for share it with us. How things are going with i-1500? did you mounted it? do you have it up and running?
@flyingtools2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes it’s up and running. I posted a new video one week ago when it’s running in hard in gusty wind. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHrUaoKcnJiVo8k

@flying tools, i have the istabreeze i1500 windsafe. i believe it uses the same generator. do you know if the bearing mountings can handle a vertical mount. i want to mod my bracket to install a verical blades. i could not find anyone attempting this conversion.
@flyingtools7 ай бұрын
Hi. I’m pretty sure it can handle that load. But to be able to reach 48v it has to spin really fast.

My friend a question, how many amperes (watts) This taurine (i1500) gives practically when the wind is good
@flyingtools2 жыл бұрын
Hi! In normal good wind 300-600w. But my Instalation is not the best. I have a 150m of cable so a lot of powerloss there. I have temporary seen over 1600w in hard storm gust.

Hi, thanks for this interesting video. May I ask what made you choose the 5 blade version instead of 3 blades? Would you know if there are any differences in performance? I'm thinking about such things as noise, start-up wind speed and overall efficiency...
@flyingtools2 жыл бұрын
Hi. 😃 I actually had those blade changed to a three bladed version. The wind turbine spins a lot faster and reach my battery voltage much easier in lower windspeed than my five bladed version in the same windspeed. It will start up a little earlier with five blades and depending on your controller you can harvest some power from those low wind conditions but I suggest you to go with the three bladed version. I have also tried the white blades but they are much softer than the black ones, in my opinion. regarding the noise, I cannot remember any difference between five or three blades. Three blades seems to be more efficient.

Hi, I would like to buy this turbine. how does it behave? I would also like to know, better 3 blades or 5? A thousand thanks
@flyingtools Жыл бұрын
Hi. It works pretty good but as all of those small wind turbines they need a lot of wind before they start to generate any power I recommend three blades. I tried both of them and the three blade seems to be more efficient.

Thanks , just about buy one 2000watt 48 v off ebay £ 495 cheap ?
