Hi there. It's great to see a real drummer testing cymbals. Most of the videos like this are useless because someone, who is sitting behind drums crashing a ride and riding a crash all the time. Also they like playing ride's bell only. So you've done a great job, man!

I love the brilliant version. I have the 21 ride and 18 crash. I just ordered the 15 crash today. Great sounding cymbals for a budget price.

Absolute best video on these cymbals.

I’ve been surprised by how actually sensitive and playable the power series is. I hope they start making 16 hats in regular and brilliant xists!

The power crashes rule. They're surprising because they open up like a thinner cymbal would, yet the thickness lends to durability. I have a few of them, and they are my favorite crashes to play.

Which sizes and what genre do you play?
@CarlosAnglada9 ай бұрын
I can't understand how they achieve that but you're so right - I often end up using my powers instead of my medium trads just because of the quickness

I'm a huge Xist fan- love this comparison! To my ear, the Power series had a higher fundamental pitch, but the overtones weren't harsh or grating. Brilliant had the least amount of overtones, perhaps from the buffing process smoothing out the lathe lines.

I know nothing about technical stuff but I liked regular one the most. I am a Korn fan and also Turkish so I have been seeing those brands and I saw David drumming with them and it was surprising for me.

This is great. you don't talk between cymbals so we can actually hear the difference back to back. I like the brilliants! But the power surprises me in that even though they sound heavy they don't sound dull and like hunks of metal.

Brandon White they’re great, but if you want a ride for metal then also check out the Xist Raw ride. I’ll be uploading a demo of the 22” Raw ride soon. It’s a beast.

Appreciate the time taken to edit this together. This is the best comparison I've seen between the 3 lines and keep using it as reference mulling over which to decide! I'd love to try them out before pulling the trigger. Do you know of anywhere 🇬🇧I could try before I buy as I want to get a feel for the weights, I'm used to A Customs and think the brilliants would be most similar. Cheers mate, subbed!
@James-Chapman-Drums3 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! It depends where you are in the UK. I know Graham Russell drums usually has a good amount of Agop stuff. I believe Sound Attack also do. Most big drum shops usually have them I think. If you’re looking for the closet thing to A customs then I’d do brilliant. Regular have more of a K feel. Power are also a great choice. They’re nothing like RUDEs or Z customs etc. They’re much more sensitive and probably closer to something like a K custom hybrid.

The power cymbals rule in this one. They are very bright but have a lower pitch so they don't sound harsh. They are pretty sensitive like thinner cymbals but have a higher durability due to the thicker center. They are also very versatile because of that lower pitch.

Yea they're great cymbals. My favourite weight from the Xist line

Great video! Is it only me or the Power Crash sounds darker than the Regular Crash?
@senpaiabraham2 жыл бұрын
I also think about that. They are more hammered hammered so they sound more dark

I have the Xist ion 18 inch and love it very trashy and bright Thinking of adding some more agop xist cymbals to my kit. Think the original crashes sound best but not crazy about that ride in any finish

What kind of ride do you like? I use the traditional heavy ride and the Xist Raw ride much more than the these

Wanting to switch from Meinl Bynzance to these and get a 24 Natural Xist ride as my main crasher ride. 15 Natural hats coming from Mb20 hats will make my ears a lot happier

Thanks! In this video it’s actually a SONOR AQ1 that I was trying out. It’s a super affordable but great sounding birch snare.

I was all about Istanbul but they have no availability near me and I really have to hear the cymbal first. Still may give the Power China a chance some day, since I'm very picky with china cymbals though not in a rush to get one. Any chance you would be able to demo the Power China?
@James-Chapman-Drums4 жыл бұрын
ajbdrums no problem. I’ll be uploading a demo of the 18” Power China very soon. It’s a beast!

so if im not mistaken, the brilliant is brighter than the power?
@James-Chapman-Drums4 жыл бұрын
Kind of. They do tend to have a slightly brighter shimmer to the tone, but they have less weight. So they sound a little more glassy but in heavier styles of music would be thinner sounding. Both are very versatile and musical though so it’s really down to personal preference.

Is a more recent version of the alchemy lines?
@James-Chapman-Drums Жыл бұрын
Yea this is the updated version of that bringing them all back to the same brand. Amazing cymbals!

Great comparison. Personally I find the brilliants to have the nicest tone, but you can't go wrong with any of the line.
