In the big city, most cabbies will take Euros (but not credit cards). Most stores will also take Euros, but we used credit cards for purchases. If you want slightly less of a price mark up, or if you're in farther afield areas or towns, you'll need the local currency. For our short time here, spare Euros and credit cards were fine.
