Don was my childhood best friends papa and I spent most summers as his house- he was basically my papa as well. He was an incredibly talented man and I adored him growing up. He passed a couple years ago and I watch this video every now and then when I'm thinking of him.

I was thinking it was kind of sad to still be singing the same song onstage for 61 years, then realized that was only 5 years more than the Rolling Stones have been singing "Satisfaction."

Original Four Lads Constantinople was 1953. Satisfaction was 1965. Four Lads in 2014: 61 years. Rolling Stones now in 2024: 59 years. Meet me back here in 2 years.

Though well before my time, this is a great song I don't want to get out of my head, perhaps because it seems closely based on "Puttin' on the Ritz," my favorite Irving Berlin song. Also, it taught me a little history lesson, answering my lifelong question of what became of Constantinople. Now I know! Thanks for posting!

Constantinople was named after Pope Constantine. The new management were not fond of him.

Первым делом, которое я получил придя в прокуратуру, было дело Саши Сибиряка, который как-то ночью пробрался в большой промтоварный магазин. Я расследовал дело, Саша получил 4 года, а я - первое повышение по службе.

I got here because of They Might Be Giants. Good music is timeless.
Can you imagine these ole dudes doing some 50's song today. its CUTE!!! i bet it wears them out though. Its not a simple task...doing stage stuff (flights, hotels, etc) when one is retired.
