I've noticed that since the game released on the 10th, the matchmaking has been so much worse. It seems to pay little to no attention to your driver or safety ratings and lumps you with people like Mitchshake51. It's also really exposed how underbaked the penalty system is.

Because the game just came out, safety/driver ratings will take a bit to distribute players more naturally to their true skill level. This happens whenever a new game with this kind of feature comes out. It’s ordinarily a growing pain of new rating systems. That is of course under the assumption that there isn’t something drastically wrong with Turn 10’s matchmaking system. Give it a few weeks and things will (hopefully) balance out properly.

Just a quick tip with the Viper: You wanna short shift it between 5000-5500rpm because the power drops off after that. For TORA events in FM7, most Viper teams used either 4 or 5 gear setups because of this, and you'll gain a fairly significant amount of time if you do the same.

What’s also crazy is that first online race ever today on Hokone. I was having a battle to keep first was making the turn in guy didn’t give me enough space and couldn’t break quick enough to avoid contact. Basically forcing me into an accident, went into the gravel and then proceeded to get a 4 sec penalty. I could’ve at least gotten 2nd overall but got bunked down to P5 unbelievable

When entering a corner, if it is turning at 60, it shifts to 2nd gear; if it is turning at 80, it shifts to 3rd gear; if it is turning at 100, it shifts to 4th gear and still stays fast. It didn't make sense to me in the fog, but it is real in the game. Do you think this system is correct?

I wonder why FH don't implement a marshaling system; like you can join a race as a marshall and review incidents. Ratings can be done offline and you can build up a reputation as a reputable marshall or not; and get paid back out in credits to buy more cars. On a chiller day I wouldn't mind doing that; especially for some higher skill races.

The first time you bumped the Corvette and they went off and you backed off to let them back on was fair.. but the next time you tried to pass them it became very clear that they don't race, they're just a dirty driver. Once you reached the straight and they started weaving I just shook my head.. when I race against people who do that I just let them spin out in to the wall if they want to play that trick.
