Just to be clear, I do LOVE your videos. Other horror movie review channels make it obvious they haven't even watched the film they're reviewing, much less took time to read the book. Mispronouncing names, getting events in the wrong order, etc. You actually show enjoyment of the subject.

I would love to see an It miniseries. And while I admit George Romero and Tobe Hooper kind of looked alike, that was definitely not George behind those glasses in the picture you used. As for the 1990 mini, I still prefer It. Skarsgard was a good Pennywise, but turned into a big, loud special effect way too often. Curry is still the stuff of nightmares, just by performance alone. The children were more likeable, the special effects were charming. It was one of my first horror experiences, and nostalgia be damned, 1990 It still works for me...

Having not been a fan of the original miniseries i went into this with a lot less nostalgia blindness. So like I liked It chapter 1 but something felt off about it and I cant exactly tell what. The OG series I remember kids i was growing up with (i was born in 91) always going on about how scary it is and all this, and i got around to watching it in like the 7th grade which was my first horror phase (because Freddy vs Jason was coming out that year so I went on the binge) and my cousin had It on VHS so i watched it and...quite frankly it was fucking laughable to me. The effects were cheesy, the psych horror shit didn't land with me and it felt very much like a cheap TV production (which it was) I love Tim curry tho, mans grew his fucking hair out for real for the part When they revealed the new one was taking place in the 80s I felt kinda jaded about it (i think stranger things ruined 80s nostalgia for me) setting it in the 50s would have benefitted it more. The whole thing with the adults kinda just choosing to blissfully ignore how fucked the town of Derry is seems like it fits more in the 50s. I felt that while the actors all did a good job there's something missing and I think its that they didn't really use the bigger budget and the longer runtime and lack of content restrictions to its fullest potential. Sure they didn't have to show the fucking underage gangbang (although, i've heard rumors that Cary Fukunaga included it in his draft and its one of the leading factors as to why he lost the directors chair) or any of the sexually explicit shit but it felt like they just left too much out. For an R Rated movie it really didn't push the level of violence that one would expect after reading the book. Also yeah you made mention of this but some of the deaths of other kids really should have been depicted.
