I remember years ago, wading my favorite creek. It was a rainy miserable day. Didn't catch a fish all day long. I was walking across the creek, headed to my car and decided to make one more cast upstream above a set of small rapids. BANG! My PB smallmouth to this very day. Just remember John, that big one could be on your very next cast.

Been a long dry summer! Finally getting rain and decided to wade the creek yesterday. They were absolutely smashing the plopper and chartreuse paddle tail grub. Was a good evening! Something about wading the creek alone in the rain is relaxing!

Nice to see the Lew's rod out for a trip. I have one also, and interestingly enough, I also don't use it that often. I don't really know why. I love it and have it paired with a Shimano Miravel 1000. Great combo. Easy to cast and a joy to catch fish on. This weather has made fishing slow. Even slower right after the recent rains here in the Raleigh, NC area. I am going out tomorrow to see what's up. Thanks for sharing and keeping it real. Blessings!

Thank you for the video. The bite has been hit miss her in Ohio as well. I would suggest the following ideas for new videos. 1. Float and fly / micro jig/ tiny soft plastic/ gulp minnows. When things get tough this will almost always get something to bite. 2 try catching and using live bait. You can use a trap , net or your hands. I’m sure the creeks are loaded with minnows, crawfish and hellgrammites. 3. Try a new water challenge video. Pick a random lake pond or creek and fish it. Explain your approach and prep. Fish for a new species. I’m sure there are strippers, gar, giant catfish, musky and walleye/saugeye around you. 4. Go to a Big River spillway and catch whatever bites. 5. Explain the basics of fishing for new anglers. We all had to start somewhere. 6. Try a bass or trout slam video. Catch three species small mouth, large mouth, and a spotted bass. Trout can be rainbow and brown. 7. Go big or go home shoot for a trophy size fish of your choice. 8 bank fishing extravaganza fish for different species from the bank at a local lake. Explain why you chose the spots an$ bait/lures. Best regards and tight lines. God bless. Tony V.

Not that long ago, i was out for bass on a tidal river down the road. I threw the kitchen sink and picked the banks apart, wood, creek mouths and all that for a solid 4 hours, 1 bite, no fish landed. Those days aren't always bad tho, definitely makes you appreciate when the fishing is really on!

I fish a creek like that up north in CT. Quinnipiac River. Cuts right thru several small cities. Highway runs right by it. Plenty of places to pull off. It is really overgrown and has steep banks. Fishing is great because nobody wants to work hard to fish it or even realizes what you can catch.

It's tough out there for sure. I haven't fished a third of the time I normally do this year because of the drought. All our creeks are dried up and the little lakes I fish are almost unfishable. When you do find some water, the fish are not feeding. Praise God, I can come to your channel and at least watch you fish. Thanks for taking us along John!

Luckily I fell to the right into a deep pool and swam out. Wont make that mistake again!

Watching this on Sunday evening. Yes, the storms have calmed, but the aftermath to all the flooding is so sad. Many people have lost their lives, their homes, business', so much. Northeast Tenn./ Western N.C. has been devastated. My prayers are for the people of our Appalachian region. Some weather forecasters are saying that another storm (possible hurricane) is forming that will take the same path as this one. GOD help us ! Pap Blevins

Please fish that first creek without camera breaks and edits. Let the fans know how hard you work to bring us a few minutes of video. That creek is like my local creeks: soft, steep banks, soft mud bottoms or quicksand, murky water etc. I appreciate that you do all the hard stuff. It is a refreshing difference from the big bass boats with more electronics than a navy destroyer.

I would like to see you release each catch with care. I've seen you launch small fish back into shallow water as well as bigger fish such as bass. A lot of people enjoy your videos but it's my opinion that great care should be exercised in the release of the fish so that they may continue a healthy unharmed existence. We have to set an example for younger viewers.
