Umm, actually, throwing handaxes uses a Strength modifier for both attack rolls and damage. Source: PHB If a weapon has the thrown property, you can throw the weapon to make a ranged attack. If the weapon is a melee weapon, you use the same ability modifier for that attack roll and damage roll that you would use for a melee attack with the weapon. For example, if you throw a handaxe, you use your Strength, but if you throw a dagger, you can use either your Strength or your Dexterity, since the dagger has the finesse property.

That bit about the book...yeah. I kinda rewatched the guardians of gahoole movie the other day. Its not great. Its extremely not great. Same goes for basically any hunger-games-like except for the hunger games. Those are still really fuckin good. Like I remember one book the main character had the alias "day" and his real name was "daniel altan wing" and it pissed me off to no end cause it should have been "ying" or something so it made day an acronym.
