I have something I want to share in reference of Snom bc it has quickly become the favorite aspect of a dnd campaign I do with my friends. Recently in my dnd campaign, one of my friend’s characters had a pet owl named snom. They communicated with them telepathically, and owl-snom was considered the bird-dad of the specific character. Recently, said character died. Through a bit of bullshitting and banter, we convinced the DM to let my friend turn his characters former pet into a playable character. So now we have a Snom. He’s a snowy owl that yells at everyone telepathically and can set things on fire. He recently summoned a pack of wolves to kill a band of cops that crashed the original character’s funeral. At the same time this feathered boi uses positive reinforcement for interrogations. Example: If you comply, you get ten minutes of owl time. He’s the chaos bird nobody in our group knew we needed and now he’s everyone’s favorite. If you had the patience to read to the bottom, I hope this makes some aspect of your day a little nicer.

21:18 I showed this to my sister and she said that she thinks its because when you're reading a book, its considered you're doing something smart, when you garden, it's a hobby that will give you something back, when you're out with friends, you're socializing, etc. But gaming, for society/our parents, you know, older people (Gen X, Boomers) when you're gaming, you're just having fun, and if you're just having fun, you're not getting anything else from it, therefore, a waste of time. We're not aloud to have fun if we're not exercising any other valuable skills according to older people. And I think she's right, because I could spend weeks reading books as a teen, but as soon I turned on the computer to play minecraft, I was wasting time that I could be learning something useful, but when I was reading, I also wasn't leaning shit. I learned I hate romance and YA, but I guess that was it. I got to learn some english by playing games and changing the language, and my "vocabulary" didn't get much better because I read shitty YA books as a teen. I also think it's hilarious of the thought of boomers thinking we have fun playing games, when most times we're stressing out and being angry because of the game is doing something stupid.
@yourshoulderdevil52292 жыл бұрын
And this is true, but playing video games can help you learn and it's usually better at it then books and other things. When I play a game I learn from it, it find strategies and outside the box ways of doing things. I find way to work towards something I want to accomplish, maybe it's getting a certain achievement, maybe it's just getting through the game, but I learn. It helps me to find friends who share my interests and enjoy the same things I do, and they end up being some of my best friends. The reason older generations don't understand it is because it's an easy way of enjoying your time. Having fun can't be this easy. We are exercising far more life skills in a few hours then they ever could in weeks and they don't understand. It doesn't fit in the small box of what's "acceptable" that was pushed into them, in fact it's completely outside that box. Books used the be considered a waste of time and look how far it's gotten. Older people are trying to hand us the hard mold they were given and don't like that we aren't accepting it because they never wanted to accept it either. It's not just video games, it's everything, LGBTQ+, social media, politics, even anti racist for some people. It's new and they don't understand.

@@zackbuildit88 Well, that's just how hot metal works. It's how light bulbs work, particularly incandescent, because they use metal filaments that get hot because of the current run through them, and they glow, and that's how they make light. Meanwhile you want the opposite with welding, in a sense. I mean, you WANT there to be bright light during the process, but not so much with the aftermath, but EVEN THEN, when it's NOT glowing like that, you still gotta be extra careful, that hot metal must not be touched by bare hands til after it's been in the quenching bucket/barrel for at least ten seconds, or you're asking for a bad time, because once it's been welded on or torched, it's still going to be much too hot to handle even after it stops glowing. I'm also realizing, with it being 2AM in the morning right now, that I'm sort of rambling on about this, but *my point still stands.* XD

The thing about the airline food is correct. Two side notes, this is also the reason the food is not fully prepared at sea level, it is parcooked and finished on the plane.l It's also why, when preparing the food, they over season it to an absurd degree. The fact that the food has _any_ flavor at altitude is borderline miraculous. In fact, if you ate fully prepared airline food at sea level, you'd likely choke so badly you'd knock yourself out.

Okay so I get up early in the morning now. I figured why not enjoy something fun to start my day. Then 23:10 happened and here I am at 6:30 in the morning being called out like there's cops with a megaphone waiting outside.

Glowing hot metal is a very touchable shade of orange but have you ever touched a hot 3D printer before? It hurts a lot for the first second then it stops hurting because you just killed the nerve!

At the risk of being cliché, this is so wholesome, but it feels like it shouldn't be.

I have two ways of entering a room. 1. Get thrown into the room as punishment for some cosmic offence I didn’t even know I committed while drinking my morning coffee. 2. Enter and leave the room several times because God keeps flicking my brain off once I step through the door, then flipping it on as I leave, and laughing at his idea of a ‘prank’.

I can relate too much to the 'saying a sentence out loud' thing because just a couple of days ago I was off in a tangent in my head and just loudly asked my family at the dinner table 'do you fucking know how many lightbulb companies there are?'

"Ievan polkka" (Finnish for "Ieva's Polka") is a popular Finnish song with lyrics printed in 1928 and written by Eino Kettunen to a traditional Finnish polka tune. The song is sung in an Eastern Savonian dialect spoken in North Karelia. It's sung from the point of view of a young man, about a woman called Ieva (dialectal for the name Eva or Eeva in standard Finnish) who sneaks out and dances the polka with him all night. The song is often mistaken for a traditional folk song, but the lyrics by Eino Kettunen are still under copyright. Later, a scat singing version of the song by the band Loituma was incorporated into the viral animation Loituma Girl, sung by Hatsune Miku, with Otomania arranged the music and providing Miku's voice manipulation, bringing the tune into worldwide popular culture.
