Growing up that was my favorite toy from the Armada series, but the “HotShot” I have is the RED colored except I lost his blaster&minicon. (If I remember right RED “HotShot” first appeared after the minicons saved his life from “Nemesis Prime”)

The paint is matched before they paint the plastic so it matches until it goes onto the plastic which changes the color

Origins Bumblebee had white Primer on him under the yellow paint and that did help with the colour matching, though the downside was the white was not visible in robot mode. I am not seeing even a sniff of a Minicon Giftset, and yet we are Missing ones for Starscream, Hotshot, Metroplex and one presumes Armada Megatron will be missing Leader 1 too, even though there is no excuse for that on a leader class toy. Also what is it with them and Micromasters and Minicons they really seem to not be able to sell them correctly they always price gouge or cheap something out.

I think the lack of paint on his very visible knee circles is very noticeable. I think the route I will go with this one is buy his filler kit 1st and then buy him on clearance then I'm not spending to much money on a painfully mediocre figure. I wouldn't mind to much if they make him in Hot Rod colours as part of the Buzzworthy Line, but then well that would make sense and Hasbro can't possibly be doing anything sensible, that is like illegal or something.

Is there a particular reason why toy reviewers forget/don't/won't acknowledge that most of these mainline figures are collaborations between people working at both Hasbro and Takara Tomy? Or that the Japanese Takara Tomy version of this mold won't be any better than the copies sold anywhere else? Or act as though everyone Takara Tomy is blameless in any way for any of this figure's flaws?

@@AwesomeMooseSmile budget as in Hasbro has a limit on how much money they wont to spend on making figures , I don't totally the process behind it but from what I under stand is that each line or classes have certain amount of money that the designers have to work with now I don't if they do it by the size classes for each wave like if all the deluxes for legacy 2023 are on one budget and the Voyagers on another or each wave has a certain budget all together so for example let's look at the upcoming voyager Tarn , he literary looks amazing and the designers went all out on him but that could impact the qc on future Voyager or is why his wave mates look under finished once this is just my understanding from what I gathered from the Hasbro designers themselves or people like protoman , who are very in the know .

I think it's best have the roof stay to the side of his legs rather than sticking the original design look since we want to post him. But still really liking the third version of Hotshot. Maybe if they reintroduced Scout class to cover 'Bee and the minibots at the current Deluxe price point and converted Deluxe to a $30 price point, _maybe_ Hot Shot could finally have a perfectly adequate figure. Oh well. Hope that future upgrade kit grants the ability to swap the legs to be accurate to the original without looking bunk.
