I’m from Cambodia. We dug a lot of wells. I would recommend that you build an A frame first. Use a very heavy metal pipe to drive the hole. We hook the chain to the heavy pipe, the the other end of the chain to the rope and the pulley resting on the A frame. The other end of the rope is hooked another pulley. We didn’t have any heady machinery to pull the rope. It was all human power. This brings back a lot of memory.

Congratulations on the 100k mark. Did you try power washing the well down? Make up a open ended well point from a 2"x10' stick of galvanized pipe by drilling holes. Place a sewer nozzle point ( having multiple angles) onto the end of a 50' pressure washer hose with the gun trigger on the other end. Shove that down the well point and (hold on!) All the crap will overflow and keep pushing the 2" well point down until you reach the desired depth. Place a trash pump or large shop vacuum in the hole to evacuate the sludge. Happy well driving to ya😉
@hextremelydesirable164811 ай бұрын
mud is not whats stopping this process. its very simple. the type of metal used in this system is incorrect. it might be able to handle the pressure but not the impacts. this metal absorbs the blows, lessening the force driven down to the tip. also, dont use the siphon screen portion for this DRIVING process. use all pipes to get to desired depth, then pull it back out and then shove the siphon screen portion down. this will prevent damage to the weaker siphon portion. "how will you know when youve hit water then?" its doubtful you would know when you hit water anyway being that there wouldnt be a substantial amount of natural water pressure to push it up anyhow. he probably went through the water table, just needed a pump to suction it out. HEX coin $0.02 PULSECHAIN $0.0001 PLSX $0.00003
@hextremelydesirable164811 ай бұрын
pain in the butt, but shoving a camera snake down everytime you get 2 feet deeper, to check for water saturation inside the siphon portion might help (if you continue to use the siphon portion on the 1st section like youve been doing) (risking damage to that weaker section)

I just happened to come up on your DIYs. What kept me watching was the art of using all the heavy machinery. My dad, who passed away 15 years ago was a heavy machine operator for more than 50 years. Many people who knew him have told me he was the best machine operator in Texas. He did a little bit of everything. I admire those who have the niche to use these machines. I remember being like your daughters and watching my dad work on backhoes and maintainers. Thank you for bringing those memories. And keep the art of heavy machinery going. Good luck in your many ventures from Texas.

@@digdrivediy I would think that just pumping water into the pond to less than a foot below the rim would go a long ways toward keeping it clean. Basically, the ground would act as a big sand filter. Personally, I wouldn't like adding dye to the pool. It's another chemical and cost.

Best part about this video is the Koch royalty lounging back with all the empties sitting on the folding table, all whispering among themselves how this is never gonna work. "Let the boy wear himself out" must have been hanging in the air like like the smell of the first Summer rain. I would bet the few dollars I have that you have made at least 2 calls to actual well drillers at this point. Aside from that whole debacle, the cement pond is looking fabulous there Don Quixote. Hey! there's an idea. Build a windmill to pump water! Love home brother. Look forward to the next chapter in this saga.

Before changing method, you can try injecting water at 2 or 3 bars. in the filter tip. I remember that those who made wells 60 years ago in the farmhouses in the Po Valley, told me that they injected water while the pile driver was driving the filter. It is an operation that keeps the filter clean and lubricates the walls of the hole.

If you look at your map of old free flowing water and draw a line connecting the wells you may find the water your looking for. You may have to run some pipe to get where you want but I'd bet that water is all connected. Video was great, I kept waiting for a gusher. Don't give up. It's great anticipation for viewers. Good luck.

I had a friend that wanted a well by his goat pasture, he did the well bi hand 5 ft pipe bi hand with a garden hose on half throttle. He got to the end of the pipe added another 5 ft section and away he went. It took him most of the summer and enough pipe to go 98 ft. He hit a artesian spout. Got his water in summer and winter. Scott has been gone for probably 15 years now and the well still runs and the neighborhood enjoys a ice rink that they call Scott's play ground. Good Luck

Congratulations on the over 100K. I'm 70+ years old, and yes, I have set a well point with my grandfather when I was about 14 years old. His place was on Four Mile Lake in Dexter, MI. I can tell you for a free flowing artesian well, a few feet one way or another can make a difference. Back when I helped my grandfather, we used a hand held fence post driver made of a larger pipe with a weight at the top end and a smaller pipe horizontally threw the larger as a handle. We would left and slide drive the well pipe. I enjoy seeing your pond build, and all the family help. Please keep posting your work.

Years ago, my grandfather needed to drill a well. The water table varies in depth and there was no fancy equipment to find the quickest path to the water. He had a friend of a friend who knew how to dowse. It seemed really nuts but he came out and found a couple spots where the pipe could go without tons of drilling. It actually worked. They’ve all passed on now but maybe somebody out there could try dowsing to make the job easier? The well may not be where you want it but it could allow you to find the water. Maybe just another interesting video.

This video had me on the edge of my seat! Please try again! Dowsing rods definitely work; certainly for electrical lines, and often for water lines. I don't have experience with wells, but I'd say it's worth a shot. They operate on basic principles of electromagnetism. Basically, standing over an electric current will cause the conductive metal wires to cross. This next part is just speculation, but it appears that some people are better "conductors", thus they get faster, more accurate results. Definitely not witchy, just one way of observing the unseen fields of energy around us. God bless you and your family.

Based on what you said the soil is like, try jetting it instead of driving it. Get a good flow of water, smash piece of steel pipe to narrow the opening till a decent jet comes out and to keep larger rocks from pluging the end (if a rock gets thru it is smaller than the pipe and will come out). Dig a hole near the site for the tailings and water to drain into. If large enough the dirt will settle enough to be pumped back thru. Once you get it to the depth you want pull the pipe back up and drop in your screen tip. It may take a few hits but should be easy going.
