All I want is stability of supply. We can't have a government whose sole business is selling fuel. Makes no sense. They should channel the subsidy elsewhere and allow us to rest. A stable supply means that at least businesses can plan and have a clear budget on expenditure. It is now left to the government to provide alternative means of transport like rail 🚈 and ramp up CNG buses. We don't drink fuel in Nigeria.

I suspect NNPCL sets the price that high to recover the so-called $6b it owed. Nigerians are in the mix of it all suffering the intended and unintended consequences. Why can't NNPCL sell crude to Dangote at the international crude price and allow Dangote pay in naira? Then also allow Dangote sell to ALL off takers. This will remove the opaque pricing we presently see. Thank you.

Crude oil in Nigeria is a free, God-given resource. NNPC and its associates extract it from the ground at a cost, then transport it to Dangote. All they need to do is add a margin, and then Dangote will process it and add his own margin. NNPC could sell oil to Dangote at a price well below international market rates, allowing Dangote to sell it cheaply to Nigerians. Instead, they sell it to him at the equivalent of international prices in Naira, and he has to pass that cost onto Nigerians... Wow, this government is unbelievable. ---

I understand your point but Dangote has a lot of foreign stock because nnpc has already committed oil to foreign buyers before now it could only supply Dangote 25 percent this should increase to almost 50 percent by October maybe then we can see some reduction in price. Also government will want to sell crude to who can pay the most money whether Dangote or anyone else outside nigeria but that needs to be analyzed in terms of cost benefit analysis

@@chinweadele5730 you are correct. Gone in the sense of payment to independent marketers that are importing the product and selling directly in the open market hence the reason why NNPC becomes the sole importer of PMS to cushion the effect of Naira to Dollar exchange rate when they floated the Naira. Remember after the floating the exchange rate jumped from around ₦650 - ₦700 to ₦1, 500. At that time, subsidy had to come back technically.
