Many years back I followed the googans heavily, mainly only AP and Jon, I've always enjoyed them the most. And with the return of AP I often time find myself watching both of their new releases. But I felt the need to share my joy for these two when Jon. B instantly facetimed Alex. That is a heartwarming moment revealing the strong bond between two beloved brothers. That moment paired with that monster bass was all I needed. Fish on.

You're a huge inspiration to me and my friends. Im still learning the game, I've caught 26 different types of fish out in California, I've done some grinding myself. But every time you would post Id drop whatever I was doing to watch. To finally see you succeed in catching a once in a lifetime catch, a mission, a dream is enough to encourage millones of anglers out there to catch their dream fish. Keep fishing Jon keep fishing never stop. Now you have a new mark to beat. And I as well and many others will keep tuning in to see it happen. Thank you for bringing all of us along with you on your adventures. With all the enthusiasm and excitement you bring it makes us feel like we're right there with you. Congratulations my friend.

In 1984 I caught the biggest bass of my fishing life a 7 pounder in Texas it has been with me ever since two wives and three states ago. It was a surpise when I caught it my fishing partner that day was fishing a jig and got hung in a brush pile affording me the oportunity of several casts with a crank bait to the same spot and wham. At the time I said if it weighs seven pounds I am having it mounted. We stopped at an HEB store and weighed it on a certified scale 7 pounds even. I have seen that fish every day since and relived the experience. Today is September 3, 2023 I am 76.

Congratulations Jon. Hell of an accomplishment. I agree with you about the sharelunker. Nice to be able to verify and grow other Fisheries but you can't just clean a place out like that. That's the way I feel when they have a Bassmaster tournament on my dad's Lake in Tennessee and haul them an hour up River and release them where they will never come back. That's how I feel about every Lake having three tournaments going on every weekend and releasing them in the same spot. It just ruins it. Especially when spawning is occurring! There should be no tournament during spawn
@ZZ430T562 жыл бұрын
When I lived in NJ, they had/have open bass season. Next door NY and PA (maybe CT too) had no bass fishing allowed in spring. The NJ lakes are not that big and commonly had 20+ tournies at once because everyone came there.
@dreichert14382 жыл бұрын
@@ZZ430T56 I hear ya. Lived in Jersey two decent chunks of my life and average size is definitely smaller than down south. But definitely nice ones to be had in the right places. My buddy says it's gotten tougher for sure. But nice pickerel to catch as well. I don't agree with not having a season in the spring, just not tournaments. Everybody should have a chance to catch bed fish at their Peak. I didn't do a ton of sight fishing on beds until a few years ago when I got more serious and was traveling between states. I had the opportunity to pull the male off one bed standing above them on the Rocks where I knew they could see me. They were pretty much looking right at me, super clear water over Rock in Tennessee. But that's the only way I could do anything from the bank.. I spent 45 minutes getting the female. She kept Hawking The Jig like crazy but wouldn't take. I finally hopped it on this one lone good-sized Rock where I could twitch the craw tails. She went nuts and flashed and I knew I had to pull the trigger quick, which I normally don't do with a jig and trailer. She went crazy, as I was literally 12 ft away looking eye-to-eye, and it was one of my better fish that year. I think everyone should be able to have the experience of something like that if they're serious. Helps you to figure out patterns and spawn timing. So long as people are respectful and return them there so they can get back to the bed. Unfortunately people don't educate themselves that deeply or simply don't care. So I get a closed season. Unfortunately a lot of people don't take their Liberties responsibly. Kind of a metaphor for the big picture right now. Hope you get to experience that if you never have and do me a favor... eat a good cheesesteak in a pizza for me. Just went up there not long ago to check my boys out and I sure miss the food. Fishing was terrible, first cold snap last November, but I scored some good waves down in Cape May. Happy to see that there's still a lot of beauty left in New Jersey.
@sneersh91072 жыл бұрын
@@ZZ430T56 I'm in PA, you're allowed to fish for bass in spring but you can't keep them, bass are open year round but there's no harvest from around early april to mid june (spawning season). Think these are fair rules because you can still fish for them during spawn you just can't take spawning fish. Also a lot of places have big bass programs where you're not allowed to take anything below 15 inches.
@sneersh91072 жыл бұрын
@@dreichert1438 Smaller fish up north is to be expected though, we have the northern strain up here whereas further south they have the southern strain which get bigger and have a longer growing season due to warmer temperatures. I'm in PA and my biggest bass is a 6 pounder, which is pretty big for my area, I've only ever caught one other fish that broke 5 pounds. I know there are bigger ones though, I've heard of people catching 8+ pounders around me, both largemouth and smallmouth but that's very rare here, especially in most places. I hear the delaware has some massive smallies if you're lucky enough to hook up to one. But we have a lot of good trout fishing here too so I guess it kinda evens things out. And again you're allowed to fish for bass year round here, just no harvest during the spawn.
@dreichert14382 жыл бұрын
@@sneersh9107 yep, 6 lb is awesome up there. Got my biggest this year in the Outer Banks at 6 5. Surprisingly I do better there than anywhere else for Bass. It's not easy to find whatever 5lb anywhere anymore except Florida or Texas. Places are far too pressured and overfished with tourneys, plus people keeping them. I don't ever ever keep bass. Don't taste good in my opinion anyway. If people want to take some they need to take the smaller ones and leave the big ones to spread the good genetics. If they don't then they simply don't care about their Fishery or they're ignorant of how it all works and why it's so hard to find quality Big Fish anymore.
